What are the chances I could reliably 3D scan something the size of about a 2"x 3" size? (I know nothing about 3D scanning or printing, for what it's worth.)

Detail isn't crazy intricate, its just a mounting piece.

My brain hurts from this thread. Maybe I have a smooth brain. Maybe it’s the OP. Idk.

Step 1:
Buy a $900 scanner
Creality CR-Scan Raptor 3D Scanner for 3D Printing | eBay

Step 2:
Take your buddies dildo mount he gifted you and cover it with anti-reflective coating spray.

Step 3:
Scan it

Step 4:
Buy CAD software
Autodesk fusion - $1000
Soildworks - $4,195

Step 5:
Import the cloud point into CAD and spend countless hours trying to clean it up using a DIY YouTube video with a person's accent you can barely understand.

Step 6:
Bambu Lab X1 Series | Desktop 3D Printer | X1C | Bambu Lab US
Buy a $1000 3d printer and spend countless hours wasting PLA filament fucking up your prototypes.
Or just send the final STL to
Craftcloud® | Streamlined Service for 3D Printing & CNC Machining

Step 7: Profit.

Step 8: Enjoy the dildo mount.

Luckily I have access to a makerspace so I wouldn't have to finance anything other than the cost of materials. I have been told that high gloss components are an absolute nightmare for scanners though. Thanks, Toyota.

Anyone happen to know if petg is shock resistant? i.e. will self tapping wood screws cause it to shatter.

Yes, the size is easy to scan and straightforward with basic gear.
