I guess pairing up with a German company and using a Canadian production/assembly facility located in Austria as a Japanese company is not the best way to go about things if you want to have any idea when your product will arrive in the United States...
Don't think they are truly uneducated. They just hope the potential buyer is uneducated and take advantage of them. TBH, is pretty hard to lie to the customer with a poker face.

They said they had a waitlist, and so I signed up for it, but they couldn’t tell me the pricing at that time. When the LEs came in, the owner of that location picked them up and then they reached out to those of us on the waitlist to try and sell it to us. Their asking price? $99,999.
I ended up picking up an LE out of state back in July and got off of Toyota of Manhattan’s waitlist, but they still text me from time to time for some reason. They just texted me again this morning and so I responded just out of curiosity to see if they’re still trying to get $100k for their LE (it’s red and is #629/1,500). Here’s how the conversation went:

Just take a picture of the Supra you bought and reply back I got the same car for hell lot cheaper!
I actually already did that several months ago. If he simply scrolled up in the conversation he would be able to tell that I'm trolling him. I guess he's sent so many follow up "hey, we have the new Supra!" texts in the meantime that it's quite a ways up in the conversation. Since I've got no skin in this game, I'm trying to haggle him down to see how low they'll go lol.
