What did you do to your Supra today?

[tracer bullet]

ran a personal best trap speed near 155mph

OK, stating the obvious, that's FAST. I haven't partaken in that kind of racing in ugh likd 20 years but I remember how blazing fast an 11 second run seemed to be, or anything even into the 10's (9's and 8's were like "Funny car" territory at the time). Congrats!

Like 1,457 people before me, I have installed my diff. brace.

Much like the CDV discussions before, I am now starting the "I think this made my shifter feel more notchy or something" discussion - fuck knows if it did, but if my brain thinks that it did, I suppose that's all that matters....

Link to where to buy diff brace that doesn't have a stupid logo?

After a little bit of back and forth I decided I didn't like the color of my current and started exploring different options with this idea in mind. This one should be a little more along the lines of what I want .

Why lateral bushings? I thought the point of a diff brace was to resist rotation about the drive shaft axis, and those bushings seem to defeat that.

The bushing is hard as f***. So it's not going to have a ton of play. It's there too prevent vibrations, it's still prevents the huge jump that would normally happen during a hard launch.

Kind of the same idea between a solid engine mount and solid hybrid polymount. It's just a little nicer on and everything connected to it.

Unless I'm missing something obvious then this design will resist the differential rotation generated by the torque reaction of the pinion and ring gear as expected. It's just a more sophisticated design than the other one.

4 points of contact on the diff rather then 2 also. This design is quite a bit more robust as well. I'm happy I went with this overall. The look is much more pleasing. Now to schedule a powder coating

Why powder coat it and cover all the lovely machining. Nothing better than clear anodised aluminium unless it's uncoated Titanium that is.

Bushings work best when loaded radially wrt the bolt/shaft. This would react to diff twist with a moment.

Yes, you can spec a different material to account for stiffness. No, the non uniform stress will be inherent to the geometry.

Testing out some features in a new Supra themed gauge dash app I'm developing.
WiFi ENET/HZFS connection is now up and running! I've tested it with both the MHD Black adapter and the BM3 adapter so far. There's still a lot of testing to do before release, but right now I'm working on converting all units to imperial for you guys in the US
I've already implemented a lot of gauge customization, allowing users to customize the gauges exactly the way they want. (customize range, set alarms, sound alarm from car speakers, custom redline and warning, custom gauge titles, and waaaay more+++)

Again, there's still a lot of work left to do, especially when it comes to finding all the useful DID/HEX values that is needed for pulling sensor data from the DME. This information isn't publicly available, so a lot of it has to be discovered through research and testing.
Don't expect a release anytime soon.

Haha looks sick!

Side note, whats that exhaust? Is it valved?

[Denton]

I had it fabricated - I wanted that angled melon cannon look.

The side pipe at the end is a helmholtz resonator that I specced out and had fabricated to try to combat drone - so it just dead ends.

I think the whole thing has shifted tho because that looks mighty close to the car

Oh thats sick! I always forget the process for speccing out a helmhotz resonator really isnt all that complicated. I should look into that again, 8th gear is practically unusable cause of how bad it drones unless im doing like 80+

I recently upgraded to these, they have a cancellation mic that can pickup bass really well. it's a night and day difference from my old set, when i flip them on without music my tinnitus kicks in because it cancels so well.

I replaced the clutch with a Uniculach. It's rated for a peak torque of 1320 Nm.
It's a nice red clutch. The clutch pedal has gotten somewhat lighter, and the engagement feels very direct.
