Oh I read your whole post, but there is no need for the aforementioned. You're rolling me into a category of people IM not
I'm not. I'm just simply saying that if you (not you personally, but in general) buy a specific car, you need to drive it like it's meant to be driven. Economy cars can be cruised around in the basement their entire lives, no problem. But a sportscar, especially one tuned to make more power, needs to be driven accordingly. A factory tune might be somewhere in the middle to appease the scumbags at the EPA, but once you delete that tune, and go purely for performance, you need to shift your driving habits toward that. And a lot of people forget that.

well then I whole heatedly agree lol Having more and more seat time in this car as a DD brought this to my attention. When I was driving it only for fun only, had no idea. Could have been there since day 1, I would have never noticed. I was almost always in sport mode before, but really enjoy driving the Supra so much that I dd it now.

Mine will be my DD too. I'll probably keep it parked if there's snow on the ground, but I plan on driving it all the time.

It's also possible that it could be the stability / traction control trying to kick in.

Youre simpky lugging the engine. Thats the vibration/ resonance you're experiencing. Give a touch more pedal and the car will downshoft and stay in lower gears longer.

I never understood this. People buy a sportscar, buy go fast parts, tune it to use those parts.... and then drive it like a Camry. If you're tuning a car, then drive it accordingly. You need to drive a car where it's happy. 1k RPM in 8th gear, is not it. If the car likes to cruise at 4k RPM, then do that.
Sir, I'll have you know that by utilizing 7th & sometimes 8th, I've been able to slash my mpg from 12.7l/100km to 12.6l/100km - those are some real pump savings...

In all seriousness, I have used 7th in the flat areas of my town on occasion - sometimes, esp after work, I'm just kinda tired and wanna cruise instead of ripping everywhere.

Also, if I'm being honest, I got to 12.6 for like 1 week - it's back to 12.7 now.

I tend to cruise where the pickup is immediate. It's a truck driver thing. We're always heavy so we always keep our truck in the powerband. I do the same with cars. My rotary cars I cruise between 4 and 6k. That's where the torque curve starts and they sound sooooo good there lol! My GTI, which sounds like dogshit in comparison, likes to hang out between 3 and 4k. It has more grunt down low so that's where it hangs. My STI likes higher revs, so it is around 4k to 4500 RPM while cruising. The Supra having such a broad power curve I'd imagine cruises around 3k or so. I doubt it will see top gear much since it only goes up to 7 in sport mode, which it will always be in.

*Phoenix down*

I hope it's this simple. My car started doing this in 7th and 8th after the stage 2 tune. More of a reason not to use auto mode I suppose.
