When first I took delivery, Carplay (wireless) loaded and worked flawlessly. But, now, Carplay just won't load and doesn't connect (wirelessly) at all (regardless of the strong bluetooth connection). I searched these forums for answers but maybe I'm missing something as I found no real references to this problem.

Though I haven't yet tried, I feel pretty sure it will connect with the lightning cable.

Anybody?

I have found that if I am too close to our shop I have to pull my phone out, select the wifi for the car, then go to the media system and select screen mirroring -> iphone -> click the first option. After it hangs and refreshes the screen showing basically no change if i go to the home screen 5-10 seconds later it shows airplay.

Its worth a try I guess. Carplay seems kinda 'glitchy'.

Now that I follow this exact procedure every night when I leave my shop... It has been extremely consistent. Its very frustrating but at least it stays. It oddly doesnt happen at my home. But maybe its just because im closer to the wifi source and the signal strenght is higher at the shop vs my home.

I was having this problem in my previous aftermarket car system and in the supra. I think what is going on is that your phone is still connected to the WIFI of wherever you are at and not switching to your car. For me it was the house.

Disconnect from or stop using your wifi network of the house or work. If you don't need to auto connect to your shop or home don't. Apple carplay uses both your BT and the phone wifi which it needs to connect to function.

Likely a stupid question, but is wired CarPlay supported as well?

I've heard of similar issues on all BMW models with wireless CarPlay. Does't sound like a fully baked solution on Apple's end IMHO.

Guys - I have had the exact same problems with my Supra and a vehicle that I have an aftermarket head unit in. Both are wireless Carplay capable. For me, I have found that this situation randomly occurs - not frequently, but with no rhyme or reason as to why. When it does, I have found that if I delete the Carplay instance from my iPhone, delete the device from the head unit, and then re-pair the iPhone to the head unit, it will work flawlessly for a while. I believe this is a iPhone/Carplay issue, and not an issue with the Supra head unit.

Yes, wired CarPlay is supported too. Its the only way I can actually get the head-unit to link.

Its intermittent here too. Perhaps its the cellular service (fringe)...perhaps BT glitch...etc. etc.. etc.

Hmmmm....gotcha. I wasn't aware (nor do I fully understand) wifi was being used along with the BT. I'll try it.

Im having issues to and i just got my car, the carplay would glitch and disappear and then reappear but when i try to click into it it just vanishes and keeps repeating. Its annoying af and if it keeps up will seriously take away from the fun of this car. :(

Didnā€™t want to create another CarPlay thread, but curious if anyone else had/has freezes/stuttering when using wireless CarPlay? If so how did you resolve?

I have iPhone 12 Pro. Only thing Iā€™ve tried is unpairing and repairing to no avail. Last resort will be a restore of the phone.

On the iPhone 12, go to Carplay and delete any association with the Supra. On the car's display, delete reference to your phone. Setup once again using Carplay. I've had my Supra for 18 months and never had a problem.
