congrats dude, I ordered my 4 cylinder model on Saturday, so excited for it! Dealer wanted a $1000 deposit, which was different from their normal $500 deposit. I told them they better not mark it up too high, they said if anything they would mark up the A91 edition ;)

which dealership was this at?

Just heard that the 2021 release and production will be severely delayed due to the cornavirus. Might want to get your money back bc god knows when they will come in now. Ugh.
Whatā€™s your source? Iā€™d be interested to learn more since Iā€™m waiting for 2021MY but deals on the 2020s looking really good

Nobody knows for sure. Last official report was from Toyota saying they'll hit dealerships in June. Anything else is speculative.

According to Magna's twitter account they've started making G Wagons, I'm assuming they are making all vehicles again.

Well, in that case you just don't take delivery of it. Sure, they could take your $1K (or hold it until they sell the car) but that's a non-issue in comparison to overpaying by $15-20K. ;) It's unlikely really... a guaranteed sale for potentially less markup is something dealers love IME. They're still making good profit and didn't have to do much work for it.
Thatā€™s awesome!! Only issue there is there is no exact price. And just says MSRP. Dealership gets it in and decides to add some of their own options and have their own MSRP. lol

I would be a little worried unless I was just a millionaire and didnā€™t care about money. Knowing my luck if I tried to order one, the MSRP will be jacked up to $75k. lol

He just did a deposit on one. His credit could drop or something happen and it would be a deal where he loses his deposit. Dealers are allocated all but the LEs so far but they do not have VINs. We wanted a 2021, but the deals right now on 2020s is too hard to resist, The amount we saved, I will put into accessories to make it a better than stock car so, for us it was the right move. We had a choice of three they were allocated, though and could have put a deposit on one. We just didn't want to wait.

You won't know MSRP because they don't know and MSRP is what the manufacturer dictates. So, they cannot add to the MSRP like they did on the first ones that arrived. The 2021 isn't a completely different car. It's a cycle update and will go for MSRP until they move on the older stock and then they will discount the 2021s as usual. Early adopters will pay more of course, but enjoy the car longer...

Basically, we felt it could be 6-8 months which is winter here. We would have that time enjoying the new 2020... Each person is different.

Congratulations on the car. I am up by Cleveland. Everything you said is correct. I looked at buying a 2020, they're discounted 5-6k here. It was very tempting, but I love the Refraction Blue. I'm ok with waiting a little longer than planned. Worst case scenario I'll keep saving and have a bigger deposit. Hopefully there will be an update soon. Talk is May/June for pricing. So we'll see.

You are saying the 2021ā€™s will be delayed 6-8 months?

All Supras are made in Austria ???
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and decline in vehicle demand, Toyota is further extending the length of its production suspension at all of its automobile and components plants in North America, including Canada, Mexico and the U.S. The manufacturing facilities will remain closed through May 1, resuming production on May 4.

That link didn't say anything about European/Japanese plants??

Update: got an email from the dealership, my A91 is NOT on the ship with the first 400, in fact, none of those 400 are A91 editions according to them.

They offered me a Premium floor model at $47k but I'm gonna wait for the A91. What's a couple more months right?
