Some 2020 premiums on cars.com can be had for 49k before bargain. Just wait until the end of the year when dealers are desperate sell off 2020 A90 Supra for 44-46k + ttl.
Heck, I’ve already seen several in the $46-48k range for sale

As tempting as the price cuts are, I think I’m doing the 2021. You only pay for the car once, but you drive it for many years.

Besides, you can make a very strong case that a lot of the savings for these outgoing 2020s will be negated by the corresponding depreciation and any potential reduction in desirability. Unless you plan to keep it forever, that matters.

Same thought here, unless keeping forever the 21s will fetch a better sale price than a 20, probably enough to cancel out any savings you get now from going with a discounted 20.

And the 22s will be better than the 21s, and the 23s will be better than the 22s, and the 24s will be better than the 23s, and the 25s will be better than the 24s.

The question is will we see incentives and discounts like these on future 6-cylinder models? There is another influence in this price whoring and it’s called Covid-19.

Except NEW car prices overall are being impacted far less by COVID-19 than the current 2020 Supra discounts. The Supra is a bit of a perfect storm and was already pretty heavily discounted by mid-March.

20 vs 21 is a known entity. You must be from the future since the 22/23 aren't out yet.
Use the iPhone logic. The next model is always better than previous model whether how big or small the improvement is. You don't need to be in the future to know this.

Would that same logic apply to wives as well? Second model better then first? Asking for a friend.

The GR Supra would likely get its mid-cycle refresh in MY2023 (assuming they make five model years before discontinuation or a new gen replacement). Since it's public knowledge that Toyota/GR/ Mr.Toda-San will be making incremental changes every year to the MK5. So for the individuals who haven't already bought a MK5 and also have patience as their virtues, then perhaps MY2023 and up would be the best investment.

Jeez, I'm just glad I'm not of the same mindset and purchased my 2020 Supra 6 months ago...I couldn't imagine making myself wait until 2023 to have the pleasure of owning / driving a Supra now...

I also never view my car purchases as investments.....

Carpe Diem!

I'm glad I got my 2020 in December I have done heaps to it & put 6800 KMs on it.

I might be waiting a long time for a 2021, heck they might not even be imported here.

If I had waited until then I might well be thinking I wish I'd waited until..... or done something really silly & ordered a C8 :p

So glad I didn't decide to order a C8 last year, goodness knows when they will get here in RH drive & how much they will be.......

I thought about the C8 as well since my car before my Supra was a '18 C7...I've also owned new C4 and C5 back in the day and I'm still curious to take one for a test drive, if I could find one available that is!

That said, I'm finding that I'm having far more fun in the Supra since it's more nimble than my past Vettes were and still has enough power/torque to keep me satisfied...As I grow older it's more about acceleration and torque rather than high rpm speed that I find the most enjoyable these days...As I've said a few times I view the Supra as a goldilocks sports car that's both nimble and fast and so far proving perfect for me...no regrets..only smiles!

For anyone on the fence deciding to buy a Supra...
