Sticky tires. Is there a list of performance upgrades you can do for the Supra that won't void the warranty? I understand this will be limited
Well, I am sure if you have an engine or transmission issue. Stealership will claim it’s bc of your sticky tires lmao hahahaSticky tires.
Every mechanical part you change, and the parts it affects, you run the risk of getting warranty claims denied.
Lol they could try i guessWell, I am sure if you have an engine or transmission issue. Stealership will claim it’s bc of your sticky tires lmao hahaha
CAI?Yep, I know 2 Supra owners who got their warranties voided for a CAI.
No Way - Cold Air Intake?CAI?
My SA said don’t put one in (I did anyway), saying that Toyota’s official line is that the CAI causes damage with too much air causing the air fuel ratio to be too lean. Of course, this makes no sense. My SA also said “any performance mod” will be blamed for whatever might go wrong down the line.No Way - Cold Air Intake?
That's not how that works. They wouldn't try to deny a warranty claim for an engine issue if you put springs on your car but if something happens to your shocks, you better believe it won't be covered. Same with a CAI. I assume if they could come up with a strong string of BS of how CAI caused an engine failure, they'd fight you over it.I'd like to see them blame the CAI for something suspension related
They don’t even have to fight you, they would just flat out deny the claim. It would be up to the owner to prove that a CAI wouldn’t cause an engine failure in court vs Toyota’s lawyers on retainerI assume if they could come up with a strong string of BS of how CAI caused an engine failure, they'd fight you over it.
Um.. disagree. I'm entitled to the warranty based on the purchase. If one wants to take away my warranty entitlement then they have to prove that my mod is the cause of the issue. Not the other way around. They don’t even have to fight you, they would just flat out deny the claim. Youre going to force them to engine swap the car against their will after they state CAI modify AF ratios?Um.. disagree. I'm entitled to the warranty based on the purchase.
