Look...I have had no issues with mine but I feel for ya. Yes, take it to another dealer but in all due diligence, you should do more than complain on a forum. Run down to your local court, take 10 minutes and $50 and file a small claims case. If more people would do this instead of bitching and moaning, these issues would go away...not just with cars. Where as most dealerships are just a big machine out of control and accountability is nonexistent, upon receipt of the summons, you will get a much better response...money and time well spent IMO. Most recently, this methodology saved me $3,800 for a transmission in my Dodge Ram diesel.

My original plan was to put some over lay on top of the taillights so that things like these wont happen since the tail light sticks out from the back. I dont want to do it yet because I was waiting for "my new ones"

I dont want to "put a band-aid" over a problem without getting it fixed or replaced..
I would not let this go, Toyota should replace it. I had similar looking crack in my then brand new BMW E85 Z4 rear brake light and made the mistake of thinking it was nothing.

It eventually cracked right thru after the warranty period, and I had to get it replaced on my own.

Finally after 3 months and a half. They agreed to replace it!

A little concerned because the work receipt states something like
"replaced with new tail lights from a brand new supra without known damage" (dont have the current work receipt on me, will post it later)
meaning? they swapped out my taillights? now the "new supra" has cracked taillights? I feel bad for the one buying that supra.. or if they swapped it from another supra owner that just came for like a service without the owner knowing they swapped their taillights.

Be cautious when buying your supra (any car you buy) and check every single inch and detail of your car BEFORE rolling out of the lot.

(***Please look at your taillights if youre buying from Puente Hills Toyota***)

That's very shady!
I don't think they will sell it like that, it may take a long time to get the parts, so they will sit on that one till new tail lights come in.
Or maybe they want to use it as a demo.

tell me about it... It would really suck for the owner/New owner of the supra getting those taillights.. That's why i was surprised that they said they will get it done within one day. (without ordering parts).

Hopefully it was to get you back on the road with minimal downtime and they'll keep the car that had the swap in the back until a new tail light comes in. It's been over a year since it's release, they should easily have replacement body parts in stock by now.

We do things like that all the time at my dealer. These cars sit so it’s better to get you on your way and order parts for the stock unit. They did you a courtesy. Nothing shady there. Also don’t see it as the dealer didn’t want to help you. Toyota must approve any cosmetic issues or the dealer will not be reimbursed.

Hey thanks man, I really appreciate people like you who actually EXPLAINS the process and what has to happen, rather than them ignoring/pointing fingers and making you (me/owner) feel uncared for.

Looks nice, what did you use to make the overlay?
