I have started to notice a correlation.
Those who track and have air co on, will eventually run into limp mode.
Any chance to race without air co on or windows down or is it too uncomfortable?
Did not try without airconditioning. So we will have to wait one year to try (lol) :p
  • By then, we should have better cooling anyways

Windows down is not allowed on a racetrack.

Out of interest: how did you find to correlation? :)

I noticed wtf also faced the limp mode whilst tracking and had air co on as well.
Also extrememacs post and others in this thread also point to air Co on and limp mode

Used bimmercode yesterday to code the supra:
  • Deactivated the active sound noise
  • Set default driving startup mode to 'sport individual'
  • Mirror tilt to 30% (instead of the default 100%)
  • Activated the memory function of the start-/stop function
  • Put as ringtone the one present on the mobile phone (instead of the default BMW ringtone)
  • Set the warning sound currently to 'rolls royce' (need to play with the settings to see which I prefer the most)
  • Raised the standard startup audio volume to 40% (maybe will increase it to 50%... as I am always using apple carplay)
  • Activated the video in motion (did not test it yet)
  • Activated the additional video codecs
  • Activated the video through USB

You notice indeed that it in sport mode, it is so much quieter :)

P.S.: I coded it via the MHD OBD2 Wifi adapter F/G series (had it when I was still running MHD cause Ecutek was not yet available)
Works fine and very fast

Very nice... where did you find the mirror tilt option? I was looking for that, but I'm guessing it's buried in the advanced settings somewhere and I missed it at the time. That would be very handy since I've switched mine to not tilt at all (via mirror control switch) but would love to have enough tilt to see some of the rear tire - just not at the expense of all rearward visibility.

You have to select as car "BMW Z4 G29".
Then you have the "mirrors" section where you can adjust the tilt percentage.

Yes I also hated the fact that by default... it tilts 100%

Been a while about updating this thread.
No news yet from Toyota on the engine and oil (so frustrating)

In the meantime, I have been on a 5-day roadtrip through a part of Europe: visiting Lamborghini.
Unfortunately we were no longer allowed to visit the factory itself due to covid19, but we visited both Museums of Lamborghini.

We went:
  1. Saturday driving from Belgium to Austria
  2. Sunday driving from Austria to Italy
  3. Monday driving in Italy towards Lamborghini
  4. Tuesday driving from Italy to Austria
  5. Wednesday driving from Austria to Belgium

But first a couple of pictures that were already released of the previous even beginning of September (as promised):

More to come hopefully :p

And now the one of the "Autogespot Lamborghini Tour"

I have a lot of pictures of both Lamborghini museums.... but sharing this amazingly sexy car as preview:

Geert,

Your pics are amazing and to be in that company of other cars would be thrilling and pure candy.
Q/ Are the Europeans accepting the Supra, ie do you get much thumbs up on the highways or is it mostly under the radar cause looking at one of your photos, the enthusiasts all seem to be looking at your car heheheh

Thanks.
Yes in real-life the Europeans are accepting the Supra and loving it. I can not count the amount of times people are looking at the car, taking pictures (even passengers hanging half out of their window during driving just to take a picture).

Every week, I still see people walking around my car when its parked somewhere.

During the events, nobody who owns a sportscar/supercar is doubting the BMW alliance that Toyota made.
The guy in the F430 scuderia was very surprised how fast the Supra goes and he admited he could not keep up driving in the mountains, psuhing through all the bends. And the other car owners were asking a lot of things about the Supra (price, performance,...)

Car enthusiasts see that the interior is BMW... but they love that fact. They simply don't care about it, they care about quality, looks and performance.

Only internet-trolls are bashing on the Supra :)

In the meantime, ordered...

1) CSF radiator
UHD8hEQ.jpg

2) Koyorad auxillary radiators
QLArF1M.jpg

All (upcoming) upgrades will be for next year, as I will receive my "Citroen Berlingo Van" around January.
  • Need a car while they work on the Supra :)

Any news on why the engine blew?
0.0 news.
Even tried contacting 'Toyota' via their contact form on the website... no response.

So in short:
  • We still have the 'blown engine' (we did not check yet what broke specifically... as the dossier is still open at Toyota)
  • We even have the 1st engine they send as replacement... which got damaged during transport. Toyota did not bother to ask it back lol

Regarding upcoming upgrades: the CSF radiator was delivered, still waiting on the Koyorad :)
Going to order some more goodies as well, but that is for next year.

Currently spending most of my time professionally, Supra project is at the moment put on a lower priority of my 'to do'-list (too many things happening at the same time)

But driving her still almost daily :) (soon time for maintenance check again)

Sorry it took a while. Been busy making my company Covid proof. Nice to see you're still making plans for your Supra. How many are there in Belgium? Seems like we are the only ones. ? I have done mostly cosmetic changes up until now.
I wanted to have a tune done (stage 1, no downpipe) at Custom Import Arts, but got a bit worried after reading your story.

I have been down that road too with my mustang ecoboost (stage 3) and got engine troubles. Want to avoid that this time.
The Supra is already fast, so a tune would suffice for me.

Beautiful pictures. What lake is that? The water is so clear. What were the police doing, waiting for someone to do something stupid?

An EcuTeck tune on an otherwise stock engine is safe I would say. The engine and turbo can take a lot more than the 80-90 HP gain that will make.
