The Supra is fine in the snow with the right tires. Though I definitely wouldn’t want to get caught in deep snow with mine. That’s obviously covered in the car and driver long term test, but there are plenty of other cars with near identical ground clearance I would expect similar results from.
I had a hard time finding a dealer that would let me drive a Supra either new or old before I bought mine. So I kept an eye out for them at local Carmax locations. When one popped up I reserved it for a test drive.
Soft tops are a big barrier to entry for me. The only convertibles I've owned have all been power retractible hard tops.
I hear the current Z4 top is great (well insulated and very quiet), but I don't think I can get over the lack of security and wear that comes along with the rag top.
It's almost as if people like different things, sometimes even for different reasons. Crazy!
I don't think I'd want to own an orange car, but I can still appreciate that people have their reasons for wanting one.
Depends on the car for me. Absolute Zero ended up being my favorite all around color on the Supra. Which surprised me. A lot of that has to do with the metallic flake content. Makes the color really dynamic for being white. Really like how (very) bright silver it can look at times.
Haven't...
Tough to tell because of said brain damage :p
I picked up the car the last day of September. I've just been rolling the windows half way down. Which isn't often especially now that it's colder out.
I really don't care that much about the buffeting. Original post was just a bad dad joke...
The wind buffeting in my Supra has given me so much brain damage, I no longer desire open air motoring, or anything else for that matter. I also eat through a straw now and wear a bicycle helmet 24/7.
For real though. I’d love a targa MKV.
Give the lack of creaking some miles. My car was totally silent for about the first 800 miles. It isn't awful now, but definitely not creak free and I'm expecting plenty more over time.
The wind buffeting has 100% not been addressed. Not experiencing it (depending on wind direction) below 45MPH...
People have different levels of tolerance for super engaging driving experiences. I’m not an old man, but I’m definitely not young either. All I know is that my tolerance for on a hour each way commute in a loud and constantly engaging car has dropped quite a bit in recent years. I don’t see...
Don't forget the instrument cluster leather package
I've owned 4 Miatas and loved all of them. A great weekend car if you don't care about power. I'm getting too old and picky for them to be a good daily though. I'm sure I'll own another, maybe a NE as a weekend car.
Here are the NDs I owned...
That's interesting to hear. I only briefly test drove a 2021 car and noted that it felt pretty numb all around. My 2023 is still numb, but the steering at least has better feedback which is nice.
By far the deadest steering I've experienced was in the G42 M240i xDrive. I could get more feedback...
What are people doing to fix vibrations from the cargo cover? Taking it out and setting it on fire? I think either that or the hatch itself is vibrating a bit in my car.
When I drove this car 500+ miles home after purchase I can recall how quiet and rattle free it was. I thought to myself that...
Interesting. I totally missed that news. Here's a report on it all the way back in January:

A month ago I was offered 6.68% on a 72 or 75 month term with Toyota financial. That was only after countering their initial 8.9% rate with the 6.25% my bank (USAA) offered.
