The lack of good support for the factory warranty is one thing that still gives me pause about buying a Supra. I already can’t stand dealing with dealership service departments, and adding another layer of incompetency and issues makes me nervous. Thankfully I do most maintenance myself, but...
I still don't like the front very much, but the rest of the car has been steadily growing on me. I like the clean lines of the profile a lot. Of course it does look like a Scion TC from some angles. Which dampens the luster a bit ?
Yeah. The new M2, despite its looks, is high on my list. But that’d be an even longer wait.
I tried to test drive a used Supra on Thursday at one of the dealers I have a deposit at. They wouldn’t let me, so I pulled my deposit.
Anyway, might not matter because it turns out my allocation...
Different car, but I experienced similar thumps after installing coilovers on my last Miata. At least in that case it was from the main spring and helper spring decompressing when a wheel would dip into an undulation and then sudden compress again when coming out. That sudden compression caused...
Last year I used Mofab in Parker to do a precision alignment on a lowered ND Miata with excellent results. They were able to hit the numbers I wanted dead on. Definitely more expensive than a lot of other places, but IMO worth it to have an experienced shop do the work.
I sat in a G42 with the same interior as the new M2. Honestly thought the screens looked tacky. I will say all the different gauge configurations and information you can display on the screens of the M2 looks pretty awesome. Overall I’m with you though. I’d prefer something a bit more old school...
Sucks that your car keeps getting delayed with it being so close to delivery. From what I understand there's still some pretty bad logistical problems getting cars from ports to dealers. I don't know if it's labor shortage, or just changes in how freight companies operate post covid. Probably...
Saw a Toronto Red G87 on the road a few weeks ago. It had a menacing look that a really appreciated. Like so many divisive designs this one is growing on me. Not a beautiful car by any means, but I don't hate it in an interesting color.
Don't take my word for it as I'm a potentially interested party, but from what I've seen a set of pre 2023 wheels in excellent condition tends to list for around $700 (shipping extra).
Checkout the wheels, tires section in the members marketplace for examples...
I've got family in the Des Moines and Council Bluffs area. So my searches have included both 500 miles out from there, and from Denver. Doing that is how I landed on an available allocation in Lincoln, NE. I'm on waiting lists in Omaha, Colorado Springs, and Salt Lake City as backups as well...
I’ve gone the carmax route for 4 cars now. Each one I didn’t want to sell. So the pain of a private sale wasn’t something I wanted to deal with. In each case carmax offered me much more than any of the dealers near me, and was close enough to what I’d hoped to get in a private sale that I didn’t...
