No BMW concept at Geneva. Just some boring hatchbacks and minivans from BMW. Next European show is not until the Fall so another 6 months until they possibly reveal their concept?
It was reported that BMW had just moved onto the concept stage on 11/14. It took Toyota about 6 months to build their concept car. So maybe Geneva is a little to early. I think Frankfurt or Detroit seems more likely...
That was a good but sobering read. Especially this: "Tacoma is our sports car."
Don't know why they say that sports cars are not a part of Toyota's DNA though. It's had the 2000GT, Supra, Celica, MR2. That's more pure sports cars (not just sporty cars) history than companies who have a...
In this video with Calty designers, they say that they designed every single line, fold, crevice etc with aerodynamics in mind and for maximum downforce. Even though they're designers and not engineers, I'm sure they have some kind of aerodynamics modeling ability on their computers to say that...
And FT-1 hasn't just showed up at the major auto shows, but also the smaller ones too. I wonder if Toyota is still gather feedback on the design or if they're just trying to keep it in people's thoughts so they can keep building up even more anticipation?
Wouldn't mind the Supra sharing this water injection system that BMW just previewed

Sounds great especially if you'll be tuning the car for some extra HP.
Not to mention a longer wheelbase car is usually more comfortable in terms of ride quality. Not as jumpy. Must be a tough task for engineers to design a sports car that's everything -- stable, nimble, good ride quality.
It's too bad something like the active rear wheel steering system from...
Million dollar question. But since the concept was designed a couple of years ago now, even if they were given rough technical guidelines to design around, things could have changed substantially since then.
Nissan broke their own record for US sales last year so they're not exactly doing poorly. I think a lot of the decision behind making enthusiast type cars or not is the personnel that is at the company. Nissan recently lost Andy Palmer, their Chief Product Planner and a huge proponent of the...
2JZ didn't need to be revved up higher than that since its peak was at 6000 RPM. Upgraded springs and retainers could take it up to 8500 RPM though.
But I agree, if the MKV Supra engine is turbo'd, anything 7500 or higher would be great.
