Most HPDE orgs provide instructors at no cost. There are some that do add a surcharge, though. I believe Chin has a $100 'coaching fee'. It should all be laid out in the event registration info.

An acquaintance of mine will be at VIR next weekend with his. I'm excited to see it/hear it run. I'm definitely going to beg for a ride. ? There's a C7 ZR1 that usually runs with us so it will be a cool comparison.

Yes, it's 100% normal. It will fatten up to mid 13s in higher gears but they generally target stoich for economy even at WOT. Coming from decades of port injection tuning I was freaked out by it as well at first.
