I did this last week as well - the writeup was much appreciated! This is the first car I've owned that has a shared fluid reservoir for both clutch and brakes. Threw me for a loop for a minute. Pro-Tip: Don't let the fluid level drop below "Min" otherwise you'll suck air and you'll have to...
I paid $519 for the MST 3 years ago so all things considered $526 today isn't too bad.
RE: MAD -- when I priced it I thought it was $359 but now I'm realizing that was the B48 version. So yeah, ~$100 less than MST with an inlet is a good deal.
FWIW I ran the MST v2 on my previous Supra. Zero meaningful complaints about fitment; my only gripe is the filter can rub on the bolt for strut tower bracket. Easy solve, though. The sound is incredible -- it makes all of the right noises. Considering an intake is essentially a sound-only...
It's a very real problem for a very small percentage of cars. My former '21 had zero issues with oil consumption and I beat the snot out of it on track. There is however a subset of 21s that burn over a quart in less than 1k miles in 'normal' driving conditions. I'd call that a real fucking...
The remainder of the original 5yr/60k powertrain warranty should convey unless it was already flagged due to mods. If it's been tuned then it's for sure gone, but that's about the only guaranteed way to kill the warranty. There should be a way to verify it's still in effect (or not) and/or...
Seems to be a solid deal and it's a tunable ECU. However, my only concern is the frequency of oil changes may mean this unit suffers from oil consumption issues. A PPI isn't going to catch that. There should still be some powertrain warranty remaining but questionable how Toyota is handling...
Got the Verkline arms on and the car aligned today. I forgot to take a pic of the outcome but I recall we ended up with front -2.5° camber, ~8° caster, 0 toe, rear -2.5° and .10 total toe. The rear camber may be a bit excessive but I'll sort that out on track. I was hoping to get at least -3°...
RE: Verkline -- I ordered these last week and they're going on today. MUCH beefier than the SPL arms I had on my previous Supra. They're currently showing 2 in stock.
Actual MSRP with the options indicated is $62,168 so the dealer-added paint package is an extra $536. Not terrible considering Southeast Toyota requires the $699 Toyoguard BS on all deals.
Time of year and location, etc.. play a big role but that is not at all current reality. Even used ones are going for more than that around the Southeast. The absolute cheapest MT I've seen in the last 6-8 weeks was a '23 with 7k miles and it was 56.9k. New '24s are still marked up here...
63.5k OTD is an excellent deal, IMO. Better than I was just able to negotiate on a Stratosphere Blue MT. In my area MTs are still marked up and selling quickly.
I had good results with RE-71RS on stock wheels running a 285 in the back. They don't live long, though.. I never tracked them in the rain, but I did drive 150 miles in a torrential downpour to VIR and thy did fine on the highway. I'd guess they'd be ok'ish on a wet track.
I've run PS4S on a few different cars and generally liked them as an all purpose tire with occasional light track use. The main issue I've experienced is they don't hold up well on track if you're going hard and have insufficient (like less than -2°) camber; especially on front tires. They...
ECF are one of the best true dual purpose tires, IMO. They're on the slower end of a 200TW but they last forever and they actually work in the rain. But.. a few misses on sizing and they are expensive.
Ehh.. It's fine, IMO. I get what they were going for but I can see how it may throw some people off. The feel is almost entirely simulated so as brake temps (and braking distances to an extent) increase the pedal feel remains consistent. I acclimated pretty quickly.
I asked KNS about the ER-1s when I was shopping pads for a different car awhile back. About the only thing they had to say was there was almost never a re-order on them. So there's that...
Has anyone tried Cobalt pads? I have the Essex AP kit on my C7Z and recently switched to Cobalt...
