This is a great thread. As mentioned I have ran almost every hawk pad combination front and rear. 30, 50,60,70 For stock calipers 60 front and 30 or 50 rears depending on what you can find were pretty good. But if you can get them to the same front and rear I think you will like it. Mine...
  2. Rattling noise in the engine bay

Sounds like a brake pad retainer clip is off and the pad is vibrating against the pins.
  3. Rattling noise in the engine bay

Does it stop when you are braking.

All having done this after blowing a turbo and locking up an engine. You have to pull the under body plastic panel (mine is now off permanently, to get to the side of transmission. There is a lever that is spring loaded and has to be pulled down and then place a wedge in it to keep down. So if...

That was kind of what I thought. I have verus hood vent and that is much better. So I did not want to cut hood with them so are sitting on the shelf. I have their vented fenders and I cut liner but screened it with a pretty thick screen and have been surprised how dented the screen is. If I had...

Yes and no. I drive a bit on the street and have used in the rain and on a track session in the rain . So can get away with wiper usage. These are regular racing tear offs so pretty tough. It does not rain here a lot on AZ so have not tested prolonged wiper usage. If you want to try the single...

No unfortunately. You have to trim. And shrink with heat gun. I found single or 2 layer is best. As you can get it to shrink. After several installs I found for me it was best to spay wet and without taking backing off fit / squeegee down down/ heat shrink working all the fingers out on the...

I had posted this before on windshield. Look up racing tear offs. You can buy blank ones from pro tint. I have been using for 2 years. 30+ track days each year and just put first windshield in.

What vents are those in the top of the fender. In bought a set from Saber design but they seem too flimsy so was looking around for some that are stronger. I also plan to screen the hole over the liner so will not take out the liner completely.

No I added a wind dam to close up the gap but it is from APR. and all of them are not something you would take on and off. So I do not think it will be easy to try and make one. While there are pricey I would go with verus if I get another one. You have to use boards to get on and if trailer

These are from motive engineering. No I am not able to make Amp. I will be at Inde end of May

I had posted this previously but here is the heat paint product. You can see that it is beige which is the highest range. I do not advocate drilled rotors but I had these on hand and cracked my other ones so put on to use I have bike brake 15” rotors 6 piston front and 14” 4 piston rear. and...

So brake vibration is due to un even surfaces. So is either rotor or pads. Some times uneven pad material can build up. But this usually goes away as the pads bed in more. So would pull both. And turn rotors with a new set of pads following the bedding in procedure for progressive stops and...

I expect the fronts are warped. My heat range is 1300 to 1400 and Jayne even higher as it us at 1400+ color on the paint guide. They come off at 800 to 900 . So are definitely running in the 1000+ mark. Which is above both of these pad ratings. So I would get heat paint and find out what you...

I still expect it is rotors and the pads. If the pads are aggressive and then depending on heat levels can warp them. Even a new set depending how they are bedded in. You can take and get them turned an watch when they do it. It will tell you if they a not flat. I am still dealing with heat...

What pads are you running and how long have the rotors been in service. Normally shaking is warped rotors. But pad material could also do it especially if you have smoked the pads meaning they went way above the operating temps.

I have not jumped in for a while but have something to add on the tire topic. I have not seen anyone talk about the Federal 595rsrr. These are a great starter tire as they come in 19s for stock rims, 200 treadwear and can be driven on street. So for the price are a good all around HPDE tire. Not...

That is not a bad starting place. Check once you come off and see how much heat they build. In general probably do not want to be higher than 35 hot. Also look at how far the wear line is rolling over to the edge. If you are not rolling the edges too far over then are in the right space. The...

So is interesting as I just noticed mine starting to throw grease and was looking for something. Mine is at around 20k/ 70 track days with a little over 2 years. They do not look torn but appear to be leaking where the champs are. So would be interested in what others find out if. There is a...

I use pro auto tint blank racing tear offs. Takes some practice cutting and fitting with heat gun but managed to get almost 2 years of track days before I finally had to put a windshield in. I found the 2 layer best as the 4 layer one was just too thick and hard to shrink.
