I think we should embrace all car culture vs. homogenize it.
Gov rules, locked ECUs, electric technology, and the democratization of transportation are all threats to the car scene as we know (or have known) it.
I’d rather be surrounded by donks, “ricers”, squatted trucks, mall crawlers...
@tucker90 Part of the modding enjoyment for me is participating in the community/scene.
In a bubble, I can see how one could acclimate quickly to mods.
Going to car meets, getting in weekend/random rolls, going to the drag strip, participating in auto-x, signing up for HPDEs, heading out to a...
The Supra’s wheelbase is really, really short (shorter than 86s, 370Zs, caymans). Combined with a healthy amount of power (and grip), and it’s definitely a learning curve to play at the limits of traction.
I'm going to bet "yes" with the catch that you implementing any future Ecutek updates or tunes will subject you to whatever differences there are on the current Ecutek version.
Are you already running this setup? If so, ECUTEK could go out of business and your car would run tomorrow the same way it is today.
If not (and coming from someone else in a 2020), I'd say wait to see how this shakes out. There may be a workaround for your concerns. If not, being in a 2020...
Why would FP not put out their own results for a product they’re selling?
Seems like many have had good experiences on other platforms, but this idea of a random community member being a guinea pig for a brand that has such a reputation is confusing to me.
You all have convinced me. I got it set up, and now I can check the app if I need a reminder that I probably need to get gas.
OP, are you sure that you’re using zeros and not the letter “o”, if applicable?
Dragy gains on a 2020: https://www.supramkv.com/threads/cg-precision-ds-1-catted-downpipe-only-log-review-dragy.13284/
Short answer: minimal gains. If you want sound with stock-like reliability, just get a catback, especially for as much as high end catted DPs already cost.
You would be right - I have not. I should have clarified that I was referring to the US market. There are lots of cool cars we don’t get, unfortunately.
Sports cars aren’t really logical purchases. Seems odd to me to get to the point where you have a stable of toy cars but then stress over what likely amounts to less than $75/mo. where the profit minus your increased interest on a new loan likely doesn’t cancel out for years.
I say that either...
100%! I've had a MK5 (6MT) and this MK7 (DSG) across 11 years. I wouldn't have gotten rid of it if I wasn't certain about my decision. GTIs are the best car at its price point and punches above it's class in many areas.
My wife loves the Supra so much, though, that she'd rather switch back to...
Sold its little bro and bought a big bro.
Keeping it Supra related - the plan is to eventually trailer the car to be able to participate in motorsports while keeping my young family comfortable along the way.
I know nothing about trucks and towing sports cars, so it’s all a learning experience...
They were on a no ETA backorder back in Nov 2021 when I picked up my used 2020 with no second key. Sad to hear it hasn’t improved.
Can anyone confirm if we can just get a used one reprogrammed?
eBay seems to have a bunch - https://www.ebay.com/itm/115226384623
Also, silly question maybe, but...
