Sorry in advance for the wall of text. I need to vent at bit, but since you asked you might as well hear this...
Honestly I must have been lucky with all the different car dealers I've done business with in the past, because I've been unaccustomed to just how underwhelming dealing with local...
My bad. I edited my reply while you were composing yours. The GR86 was just one example of a possible reason. I don't think that would apply to every potential GR86 customer, but perhaps a portion who are on the fence with the MT being a differentiator.
If a company wanted to convert more potential GR86 buyers to the more expensive step-up 2.0 Supra model. I don't have insight into Toyota's market research or internal business details, but there could be a variety of scenarios where this is a desirable business decision for them. For example...
Not sure that's how that works, but that's not my field. I would suspect, however, that if Toyota offered the manual in the 2.0 (along with the existing AT option), and not in the 3.0, that the numbers of 2.0's sold vs. 3.0's would be significantly different.
I too wouldn't be surprised if the MT option showed up only on the 2.0. Reading this thread it seems like it's the compromise option that would satisfy most participants, if some can get past the 2.0 vs. 3.0 FOMO.
LOL! You donāt have that thing PPFād yet, do you? I was so terrified to drive it until I had that on there. Itās my daily, so I had no choice. I was really lucky not to have any chips during the week and a half I drove it before install.
I suspect only minor tweaks from here until the J29 is retired. If anything, I suspect most of those tweaks will come from adjustments to the availability of parts in the BMW supply chain rather than Toyota calling for them. Perhaps the occasional aesthetics only āSpecial Editionsā as they have...
If youāre willing to have your ECU shipped to Russia, or use a piggyback, you have options to tune your car now. Plenty of threads that cover those options on the board for the last month or so. I echo one of the other replies here that there are plenty of folk happy with the car as stock, count...
No problem. They have an Elantra N coming out (the Elantra and the Sonata are both sedans, so could be confused), but even a full Hyundai N car shouldnāt be too much trouble for ours. Might be close with a 2.0, but havenāt compared any published numbers.
You mean a Hyundai. I donāt think the full-fat Sonata N is out yet, so it was most likely an N-Line, which is not all that much different from a regular Sonata (mostly aesthetics). That said, if the performance was as you witnessed that car had to have been heavily modified.
Edit: Looks like...
What cleaning tools/methods do you guys find make it easier to clean the brake calipers in particular? Cleaning them is awkward with the wheel on, but was hoping there was a better way to do it that Iām missing. I donāt want to have to take the wheels off when I clean, and a pressure washer...
I guess it's down to what folk consider functional then. I wasn't aware of the drain holes, so at least the water isn't pooling, but can we reasonably call all of this "functional" if you aren't also cutting the metal underneath to allow airflow?
Won't this just allow water to collect inside of the hood when it rains on the car? Behind the existing fake vents is just the inside of the hood, not open to the engine compartment, is it not?
Iād like it so I could cool my car down a bit more before leaving the office after having the car sit out in the Texas summer heat all day. Scheduling ventilation might work in some more moderate climates, but itās not really up to the task around here. Iām not so concerned about warming the car...
I find that my iPhone 12 Pro Max overheats on the cars wireless charging pad much more frequently when the phone itself is in a cover/case. Even a very thin wireless charging compatible case.
I donāt often use the 12V outlet (lighter outlet) since my detector is on a mirror tap, so the...
Escort Redline 360c - The range is fantastic. I appreciate the GPS feature if for only learning/suppressing repeated false alerts. It's stupid expensive though, and there are cheaper options that are probably pretty good.
I installed it using a mount from BlendMount with a mirror tap cable for...
