you can tuck it in the bumper and it will be fine. i just disconnected the valve motor from the plug and tuck the small plug.
the error for the valve being disconnected does not illuminate the CEL on the dash.
honestly speaking, you're better off getting the 2020 so you dont have to deal with sending the ecu overseas to be able to tune it. unless you're trying to surpass a bottom 8sec quarter mile, the 6 port doesnt really mke a difference over the 2 port.
this shouldnt be a total loss. thats about $7-10k in just parts unless prices went down. but depends on parts availibility. but i've also seen them with an 1/8 of the damage totalled, not sure why
If you are seriously tracking and trying to be competitive at it. You will absolutely want to go the custom tune route regardless of the flashing platform you use. The OTS maps on MHD are fine. But tracking with 91ACN i would recommend a more tailored approach based on how crap that fuel is...
the closest shop i trust to deal with the car is my guys at Kennedy Performance Center in Nashville, TN. if i remember correctly that about 2.5 hours from Louisville, KY. they have an AWD dyno, and they are familiar with BMW. i've done some cars with them over the years.
I think you PM'd me. I responded if you haven't seen it already. The right answer is an unlock and flash tune. MHD as I said would be your best bet.
Or like I said, M2 is an option but still limited by 91oct. Power output potential will be still limited. A little more power can be had on...
What shop? I would ask who their "tuner" is before committing to that. I as well as others also do remote dyno tuning and street tuning globally. But $300hr is ridiculous honestly speaking. Going rate is usually $150/hr
As @zrk said, depending on your location, you aren't going to find better tuners on this platform local unless you are local to one of the ones mentioned above and maybe three others (motiv, shoup, sameh).
So don't stress yourself looking local if local is not them or me. Trust me, save...
Welcome to the supra world. I'm sure you will enjoy it coming from EVs.
This is a good community here. Don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.
Depending on octane and what the fuel trims look like yes. I've never liked simply "relying" on the knock system to save the engine due to not being able to adjust timing. But lucky for the jb4 the knock system is kinda sensitive persay.
Even how the auto boost adjusting works on the jb4 I...
Jb4 with meth is very crude. Honestly the money you spend on the jb4 and meth setup would be about the same for just getting your ecu unlocked and having a real tune.
Jb4 is just a boost controller mainly. It has no timing control or real fuel control.
Also, if you still have the stock subframe bushings. Sound and vibes don't increase much if at all. At least I never noticed any increase during testing
