Good, brief article worth a look.

Everything they have to say seems pretty reasonable, although I think 2016 as a 2017 model for the Supra seems a little optimistic.
I...
I think that's reasonable. It's going to be a long time before we see a car. There is obviously no rush from Toyota.
When we saw such a seemingly complete car at the unveiling, and with the amount of marketing and pimping that Toyota has been doing of this thing, it would have seemed like a...
"The program to create the vehicle is “progressing according to plan” with the accord on the platform, Munich-based BMW said Monday in an e-mailed response to questions."
Essentially this is the only part of news contained in the brief article.
Progress is good!
I was gonna say I meant Honda not Acura, but really I don't have any real expectation from either.
NSX looks good but still no timeline for when cars will be delivered or even for when they might be orderable.
I mean that this new car is more likely than not some sort of new Del Sol. ;)
I have zero expectations from Honda when it comes to anything sportscar related.
Appeared to just be a poor strategy decision, made no sense whatsoever, except for conspiracy theorists. To me it seemed more like hubris with Mercedes thinking they could make a pit stop in their short window, just to have freshened tires for the sake of it, perhaps to show off. Or it could...
Pricing has been announced for those of you who haven't seen it yet:

$61,370 for the GT350R
Plus limited options.

Both cars are expected to arrive with approximately 550 horsepower, magnetic ride, etc. GT350R features industry...
I think we'll definitely get a refreshed 86 before anything else, but not a new car per-se.
I can't see the sub-86 hitting the market before the Supra, especially since we haven't seen any real concepts yet (or have we?). Even though there haven't been any firm dates set for the Supra, it's...
Salesmen, managers, and even dealership owners at this level are rarely very knowledgeable, and in their defense the BRZ is really a cult car that attracts enthusiast buyers.
No doubt the FT1 purchase and ownership experience will likely be tarnished by the Toyota dealer experience.
Super...
I used to dream of stuff like an RB swapped 240SX, or a triple rotor RX7.
Like you though, now that I've got the money, I don't have the time for the headaches of keeping a car like that running.
I also doubt my abilities to truly improve a car over what the original engineers had in mind.
3 liter in the next GTR sounds nuts. No way it's going to develop the same power as the LM, but I guess we can count on 400 real horsepower, plus battery power? Damn this thing is going to be portly.
Yeah actual top speed per se isn't hugely important... but a higher top speed typically means that the top end is more accessible in general.
I enjoy blasting into the triple digits from time to time. I also like a car to feel fast at 60, 70, 80, 90 and not just from a dig or low speeds.
Obviously this is a loaded question and depends on a lot of factors that we don't know yet....
For what it's worth, I believe the car tops out in the mid 180s in Gran Turismo.
