Yawn. Lets see, 70grand to get a Z4 that does 3.9s 0-60, or 70 grand to buy a Supra, plus a retune (1k or less) to also get to 3.9 or less + a brand new Corolla to get to work lol.
For the first year only probably, sounds about right. Here's the link for the Canadian announcement, but its the same as the USA one, just converted to metric units and no pricing mentioned...

Thats...
More likely for the enthusiast with a sawzell....
Man the car actually looks good in red in this pics! I don't know what it is about the official Toyota pics, but the car just looks weird in red, but gorgeous in silver and white. Looks good here though! Man I hope the production cars have clam...
Sure, on their highest trim of the new Z4. But the regular inline 6 versions have the exact same motor and more or less same power as the Supra... currently. I suspect the GRMN (and a MT) will get announced within the next year but its likely going to be a 2021 model and they don't want to...
Yeah for sure the iron block will add some, but there is a lot of crap in this car that can be dropped if you want a more pure driving or racing machine (power folding mirrors? pass). Also, the 2jz head is likely lighter. No timing chain in the 2jz or Vanos system or air to water intercooler...
Also guys, don't get too hung up on the factory claimed 335hp. You all seem to be missing the standard 365lbs/ft, that is actually the important number there. The low HP high torque means its got a beefy motor with a strong turbo and either a restrictive exhaust or a soft out of the box tune...
Although I'm disappointed by the weight and not offering a 380hp variant at launch (or MT of course, but we knew thats how it would be), overall its a pretty good launch and a decent product they are serving up at a decent price. I would like official clarification if that weight is for the...
That kind of stuff is pretty much standard for these big public reveal things when the CEOs and such take the stage.
I enjoyed the big reveal, just wish I had remembered to get up an hour earlier and watch it live and that I hadn't seen the Supra reveal video a million times already. Thanks...
Ugh, please people, stop referring to this motor as a 3jz or making that comparison. There is 0 DNA between these 2 motors, 0 Toyota parts on it (and I am skeptical that there were even any significant changes made to it on their request). And even if Toyota had built it, it still wouldn't have...
That would have been heavier then a GTR, with only RWD. No thanks, they went in the right direction if they were going to make a big departure in size and weight from the mk4.
Sure, thats an easy problem to solve, just lower your standards! lol
Only time will tell. I had a mk2 Supra for awhile with the original unrebuilt 5mge and original HG too amazingly. Had 640,000kms on it when I sold it, still ran great. I wouldn't expect the kind of epic durability and never...
I'm not criticizing. IMO, the only reason to choose a mk5 over a mk4 is to get a smaller, lighter Supra with a better weight balance and lower CG. Every other category, the MK4 is a better car. :)
Where is this mythical girl who in the morning looks as good as she did the night before in full make up with her hair done? lol If she still looks that good /|\, you've done well lol
Uhm they published the actual length of the car eons ago... it is shorter then the GT86. Every single reviewer that's driven it has commented about how small the car is in person. They didn't know they were going to share a platform with the z4 when they made the FT1 as far as I know.
