  1. Toyota Supra and BMW Z4 Sales Figures

Interesting figures. I only saw US and Canada on the page….is 18k the global sales number?
  2. any benefit in taking the engine cover off?

Again….I never said it doesn’t burn and melt, I said I was told it helps in keeping engine fires from spreading quicker than if there wasn’t one there. It melts slowly and covers the top of the engine to keep the fire lower to either put it out easier or allow longer time to evacuate the...
  3. any benefit in taking the engine cover off?

I don’t think it puts out the fire, I think it manages it better to eventually put it out. Basically buying you time. Again, this is what an engineer told me….not official statement from Toyota.
  4. Toyota to begin reproducing and selling select 2000GT parts

My dream car. I am absolutely in love with the 2000GT.
  5. any benefit in taking the engine cover off?

An engineer once told me that the reason the engine covers all became this cheap plastic looking ornament is because in the event of a fire, it’s designed to melt over the engine and suppress the fire. They use to be insulation panels attached to the underside of the hood (like the MKIV’s), but...
  6. MKVI Supra - What would you like to see in a future Supra?

To be honest, I don't think an all EV will be branded a Toyota....that may very well be a Lexus exclusive. The furthest a MKVI Supra would go in terms of electrification would be hybrid. Just my "two cents." Yamaha's EV system is pricey....and I don't think Toyota buyers will pay the premium...
  7. MKVI Supra - What would you like to see in a future Supra?

If Toyota made a MKVI Supra, what would you like to see in a future Supra? ***Please don't start attacks or flame wars in this thread.*** Examples: - Country of Origin (Japan, Europe, USA) - Powertrain (Inline Six turbo, V6 turbo, Inline Four turbo, Hyrbid, etc...) - Collaborations (Yamaha...
  8. THIS Is the Manual Toyota Supra [Official Release]

This is surely part of it….along with the “evolution” of the MKV Supra. They aren’t done with the MKV Supra yet, I’m pretty sure there will be a few more “offerings” as the platform ripens. As much as I hate inflation and the shit going on in our economy, I gotta say it has pushed some car...
  9. THIS Is the Manual Toyota Supra [Official Release]

From what I know, the manuals (in general no specific trim) are “supposed” to be limited production. That’s why I’m saying, get whatever is available.
  10. THIS Is the Manual Toyota Supra [Official Release]

In all honesty, get what you can find at this point. These will be limited run....so, if you wait too long, you may not be able to get one at all. Good thing is, no matter what you find, it will hold it's value better than the auto's. Good luck.
  11. THIS Is the Manual Toyota Supra [Official Release]

So, I believe that was the "goal" for both companies....to build a good sports car, while keeping costs down to deliver a somewhat affordable and attainable vehicle. This doesn't really play a factor for BMW because the brand attract heavy-pocketed buyers to begin with. For Toyota, every...
  12. THIS Is the Manual Toyota Supra [Official Release]

Sorry, I know we have gone wayyy off topic, but anyone else remember when the Chief Engineer at Toyota (Lexus), called the LC500 the Supra when they were testing it around the track (start at 5:00):
  13. THIS Is the Manual Toyota Supra [Official Release]

The B58 (as great as it is), probably won’t be around for too long. Tighter EU emissions standards and push for EV’s will make it very difficult to keep compliant. If I had to place a bet, I would say a TT-V6 w/optional Hybrid from an upcoming “F” car would be very much welcomed. With Yamaha...
  14. THIS Is the Manual Toyota Supra [Official Release]

First of all, I am not in anyway associated with Toyota and am in no way a representative of their products or future ventures. What I post should be treated like any other “possibility” post. With that said, have I posted anything in the past that wasn’t true? There were Toyota insiders here...
  15. THIS Is the Manual Toyota Supra [Official Release]

Let’s just wait and see what happens guys. I’ll reserve my words for now.
  16. THIS Is the Manual Toyota Supra [Official Release]

Clickbait for what? What are you clicking on?….a “Like Button?” What sort of financial or self-gratifying success would I get from this? Sounds like you’re getting a little worried about something….don’t sweat it man, it’s not like everything I’ve said before has actually happened…..or has it?
  17. THIS Is the Manual Toyota Supra [Official Release]

Technically, I never said “the MKV Supra J29 chassis would be built alongside the GR Corolla.” I said, “hopefully THEY (Corolla and a Supra in the same factory)…”. I’m no source for any of this, so interpret it how you guys want ;). If I had to guess though, I’d bet on the next car at Motomachi...
  18. THIS Is the Manual Toyota Supra [Official Release]

    I haven’t said anything ;).
  19. THIS Is the Manual Toyota Supra [Official Release]

What if you found out that it has actually cost Toyota more to build the MKV Supra from a Z4, than it would have to build it from an existing Toyota/Lexus chassis….would that blow your mind? Research bud….the tools are at your fingertips.
