Take it easy Captain, I’m not “probably” talking about that. You don’t need your own YouTube channel to know what Toyota’s next moves will be :p.
Who mentioned anything about it being safe? Let's not get into assumptions here buddy....that should be a discussion on SupraForums, not here. Everyone is very aware of the risks associated with modifying a car, whether it's 400whp or 1000whp. If they don't understand that, they shouldn't be...
Its all about the tune. Avoid detonation and high temps, run cooler fuel, and 900-950whp (1000 crank) is doable. I agree it’s on borrowed time, but doable.
700whp needing an engine build??? Far from it bud. You can make that with bolt-ons. Once you start cracking the 950whp mark is where an engine build may be a thought. If you decide to go engine build, elevate your power goals to 1k+!
No one believed me in the past when I said the B58 would...
The C8 is a cool car, but I’m not a Vette guy (personally never really had any interest in them). That said, if I had a pick of any Vette (year, trim, etc…), the C7 ZR1 would be it….hands down the GOAT in the Vette lineage.
For some reason, I always thought that in most 6spd’s, 4th was the 1:1, I guess not. Makes sense that there wouldn’t be a need for two overdrive gears after, but in some 6spd manuals that do have a 1:1 4th, is 5th really another overdrive gear?
Exactly! Same with almost every domestic muscle car and the Tremec T56. Ford, Chevy, and Dodge didn’t build the T56, but they specified their requirements (ratios, bellhousing, tailhousing, shifter location, gearsets, synchro’s, etc…) to Tremec and in return got a vehicle specific version of...
I believe the same. I don’t know for sure yet if it’s cylinder head work because there was mention of “other firms” coming in to assist with emissions systems. So, could be emissions components, intake/exhaust, or even head work. I hope it’s not just acoustics….should know more soon.
You answered it yourself!
What other BMW will have the exact manual transmission? I mean EXACT! Nut for nut, bolt for bolt. Not “basis for…”, EXACT! As for “basis for…”, the Z4 used a ZF transmission, not a BMW transmission. Just like the MKIV used a Getrag transmission, an R34 used a...
Yes and no. Depending on logistics and where they are coming from, the price of the vehicle maybe more or the same. For example, if Toyota is able to source 6 piston calipers from Subaru’s STI, the price may not be much more. However, if Toyota sources it from say an M car, then there will be...
Thank you! Yeah, that’s why I put “same” in quote about the Getrag, because they are and are not the same. Just like when people say the manual transmission in the MKV is from a BMW parts bin, it is and it isn’t. It’s a ZF transmission used in several BMW’s but in different configuration of...
Manufacturers have hardly used in-house made transmissions, so im not understanding your point. A transmission unique or bespoke to a vehicle would certainly qualify that variation of transmission to be named appropriately….in this case, it’s a GR transmission made by ZF. Just because BMW uses...
