I bet alot of people will be surprised by this car’s capabilities. Remember, there is probably going to be a Nismo version to follow. Nissan out for blood.
Not really to be honest. It will prolong the r&d for tuners in terms of finding a way to do it, but the end result should be great. Also, tuning is the last thing on manufacturers minds nowadays….especially with the EPA cracking their whip harder and harder.
Okay, so again I am only relaying info here, but supposedly Toyota has been keeping a close eye on Jeep’s (Stallantis) new inline 6 turbo motor (codename Tornado). If this is correct, we will either see more Toyota’s with TT V6’s or even Mazda’s partnership inline 6 turbo across the board. The...
Toyota is going to dominate the market in the upcoming years….not like it isn’t already, but they have some pretty spectacular J-cars coming. They are stepping up their quality game because I think they will focus more on quality than quantity moving forward. That will mean pricier cars.
Yeah there is no doubt the ZF is a engineering marvel. It’s why alot of tuners are trying to find auto solutions for the MKIV (6R80, etc…). Anyone who thinks a manual car can outrun an auto (like for like power) is in over their head. The only upside to a manual is the driving pleasure….it’s...
Ford uses the manual on a 2.3L for the sole purpose of load rating. They have a Getrag (made in China not Germany) that from what ive read, isn’t very “stout.” Behind a 2.7TT, it would shred the transmission gears. My Rubicon had a factory AISIN manual that was made in Japan, actually same...
Don’t want to get anyone in a hopeful tantrum….but my source stated, “it’s going to be able to hold 700nm out of the box.”
Just as a reference, the V160 was rated at ~500nm out of the box….and have seen numerous 1000lbft applications with no issues.
Also, for those T4R fans….the upcoming T4R...
E40 numbers look about right based on the mods….however, the 91 numbers seem a bit conservative. Makes sense to be on the safe side with 91. You can push it more with 91, but an upgraded heat exchanger may be needed.
I always use the analogy of casino slot machines. You have ones that you push a button to turn the wheels and ones that you pull the lever to turn the wheels. Both will serve the same purpose and both respond to your input when triggered….however, statistics have shown the lever type machines...
A few false bits of information here. I think your neglecting to consider the main reason people have historically purchased manual sports cars (at least ones that came in both options).
1) People pay more for a manual to go slow. False. People pay more for a manual to get higher levels of...
Well, to that point….Toyota didn’t say it isn’t coming either. Right? There is more reputable “rumored information” of a manual coming than there isn’t. Not to mention that the engineer who developed the car himself stated it’s a possibility rather than a definite no. So, instead of seeing...
I don’t know why everyone is getting so worked up over whether or not the MKV Supra will get a manual transmission or not. It’s a driving preference….period. No more no less. If there is circulating information that a manual is coming from various sources, great! Yet, to start posting...
