To really distinguish the two variants of the current chassis, Toyota should bring in Yamaha to provide engineering on MKV specific cylinder head and accoustics. Nothing wrong with the current 6 port head, but it could use some better tuning and redesign of the direct port injection...
Why would they? The B58 is considered by many as the best engine BMW has ever made. I’m not talking about power, I’m talking about overall. It’s stout, reliable, makes good power, modern, smooth, and has potential to be tuned to 1000hp on factory long-block parts.
So in reality, an S58 would...
As I've said before, I have not heard any solid info on a "GRMN" version. Now, that's not to say that Toyota would never attempt anything like this, but as far as I am aware....this hasn't shown up on any reputable source's radars in terms of a production car to be sold in the states.
S58 will most likely not pass Toyota’s reliability and durability standards. The B58 is so good because of Toyota’s push to improve its core offering from BMW. The S58 with Toyota’s involvement would be a slap in BMW M-division’s face.
Also, with more and more BMW’s going EV, they are...
Thing is, I still haven't heard anything on a "GRMN" version coming state side. Has this been confirmed? There was (in the past) mentions of larger brakes, suspension tweaks, and even a different ratio differential.
The carbon fiber ramp up is what I am curious about....I hope I hear more soon.
Sure, it just seems like the R35 has undergone more significant enhancements and evolved at a faster pace compared to the A90/91 so far. Of course, it's still too early to make definitive judgments about the future of the A90/91 platform, as there's a good chance that we'll see more substantial...
Nothing new here (as expected). As ive said before, R&D efforts are not in the direction of the evolution of the A90/91 platform. Nissan did do this with the R35 and from conception to current state the R35 did see drastic changes. This will not be the case with the A90/91.
The new platform...
I knew it!!! US politics getting in the way of good things:
"Investors also backed all 10 members of the board, including Chairman Akio Toyoda, despite concerns about board independence raised by prominent U.S. proxy advisers. The breakdowns of both votes won't be released until Thursday."...
Right, and for good logical reasons. Toyota is not "anti-EV", they are just extremely confident that going in all-EV is just not a sensible business decision right now (and probably not for a very long time). Consumer cost, R&D, availability, and consumer interest/use/support do not justify...
Carbon Fiber production will include (up to this point):
Hood
Bumper Skirt
Roof
Outer Door Cover
Rocker Panel Skirts
Trunk Lid
Spoiler
Rear Diffuser
No word on what car(s) these will be for yet.
No solid info on this yet.
Exactly! It's why Toyota partnered up with ExxonMobil to advance their E-Fuel program. Porsche has been on it, and several others. It may be the thing that saves the ICE...
I’m not saying they will rollback their strategy, but they will drastically enhance current platforms. Again, that’s if regulations loosen up some.
Yamaha will be involved….just need to find out exactly where.
