yea the seals probably go bad and you get additional chassis flex...personally I don't care about the latter issue, I'm not a track junkie nor do I care to try to push a car to its limits on pubic roads so a targa would be a cool option to have.
no different than the expectations of Toyota's development on the engine or reliability, it only looks like hounding to those that don't care..these are highly important aspects of the car, otherwise that host talking to Tada-san wouldn't have brought it up.
at around 39:00 it sounds like the host wanted to discuss the transmission options though Tada-san couldn't reveal any info...but I think he made it clear that he did not previously say or confirm that the manual option is off the table.
yea I also believe tokyo 2019 will be the launch mirroring the launch of the gt86 @ tokyo 2011..
being a japense company im sure theres a lot of conflict to keep any significant launches in their home country
aren't you contradicting yourself? You acknowledge that this is like the GT86 project where Toyota contributed to the FA20 top end design, so wouldn't this be the same concept? Think it would disappoint a lot of Toyota folks if there was absolutely no development from their side..
no..that footage is not recent, it is OLD as it still shows an older mule with fake panels.
come on, you're in the thread with all the new pics and you bring up that? lol
there are no traditional hood lines, pretty much the same design as the current Z4 hood..
sure ofc you can still mod and FI a 2JZ-GE like any other NA engine but I'd be interested in finding out reliability considering the higher compression..
perhaps but just like on the MK4, anyone who is serious about tuning gets the blown variant from the factory to start with..it isn't like the 2JZ-GE was very tuneable either, but that's sort of the point with a base engine..
..goes against what Tada-san stated regarding an i6 being vital for this project to be considered a Supra. As a base engine, why would the NA i6 need power and tuneability? It would be much like the base NA 2JZ and 7M i6s offered in the previous gens. Plus, there have been news worldwide...
hmm? think you misunderstood...the previous posts were specifically talking about a retractable/active wing so I'm pretty sure MK5 will have a big wing option especially considering they offer one on the 86/BRZ special editions..
retractable/active wing..
