totally get that many of these items aren't going to weigh a ton but it is just the philosophy I'm concerned about. They went through the trouble of using a much shorter wheel base & having no backseats only to put in more equipment and having a heavier automated trans, etc...the curb weight...
eh, as far as what toyota can do with the GR Supra concept, I'm pretty sure they can still race and compete with it, don't think the homologation rules for GT3 are like that..think A70 confirmed this. look at the NSX, weren't they racing a chassis for GT3 before the 2ng gen NSX actually launched?
hmm, hard to see Toyota forcing base models with the standard safety gear the other toyotas get, besides the 86 ofc, on top of offering a higher performance variant with no autonomous safety. im still hoping it will be like the 86 where toyota leaves their sports cars completely out of the...
indeed, pretty sure all the vents will be fake but just like on the 86 i'm sure many folks will find a way to remove the inner trim pieces to open them up for more airflow
good effort in order to keep the vent design from the ft1 but I still find it odd that it isn't blended into the door even if it is fake..but if it is indeed bolted on and removable then think you're right about this being specifically to help with widebody kit fitment.
e. now that i think...
good write up but the simple answer is unfortunately these are totally different times with emissions, safety, politics, other regulations, etc...one could argue, as you pointed out, that toyota should & could be spending more money on these types of products and I'm with you on that on many...
expected :( still though, despite many of my early reservations I will admit they have been pretty faithful to the FT1 and included many design cues I thought would be completely left out so even if fake it is still commendable.
E: just realized this too, what is up with the frames on the doors?
if the car's performance is up to par with competitors without a stick then it isn't a deal breaker....but if the driving experience does turn out disappointing then that fact would merely be one of the reasons I wouldn't get one, not just because of a lack of a manual.
Between DCT & a TC I...
Production GT86 was revealed 2011 Tokyo Auto show, the very first 86 orders of the FRS was fulfilled early by Spring 2012. And this was after several concepts ofc.
LOL supra fans sure get butthurt  think you're the only one that thought they are rushing this, virtually everyone else here thinks they are taking way too long..guess ya can't please anyone!
here we go for another 10 months, let's see them "rush" it
they haven't released anything yet so how is it rushing? lol. this is all for building ridiculous hype without showing all their cards yet.
maybe the Z4's console can be swapped in if that gets a manual option
not from Tada but it has been already mentioned here
https://www.motormag.com.au/news/1803/geneva-motor-show-next-toyota-supra-revealed
...and based on many things we've seen & read like the paper on the dash of the Z4 mule it seems 2019 is a lock. Come on, Toyota has done this with the LFA &...
