Right on. Yeah, people have always asked me why I spent so much money on a helmet, etc. I figure if there's one thing I'm going to put money into it's stuff to protect my noggin and accompanying parts. I feel the same way about a cage.
I would love to know how much you both feel a proper cage stiffened the platform (assuming you end up doing this @Rocksandblues). I feel like this chassis is pretty rigid in stock form, but I've also never been in a car pre-/post-cage where I wasn't impressed by how much it stiffened it.
I know this is a pad thread, but instead of creating yet another one of these, is anyone here running slotted and/or drilled rotors for track use? I've pretty much landed on the C21/C11 pads, and figured I would just do rotors while I'm at it. Are they recommended and/or worth it on this car...
So I've heard a lot of people like these. Have they, or any Continental, ever come standard on a MKV Supra? I was visiting one of our labs and a guy pulled up in a new Supra. It had this tire on it. I didn't notice it until he had already walked away.
Yeah, I think the quality is great for a lightweight hoodie. I do like the option of using white or black drawstrings. No complaints in that department. Sure it's not the quality of my heavyweight McLaren F1 Racing Team hoodie, but it also didn't cost $250.
EDIT: Oh the badge. I'm sitting here...
I had no idea about the AC being turned off at WOT on modern cars. Most of my track cars have been from the 90s in the past and it doesn't make a damn bit of difference on my '21 Tacoma. It would just make it go from slow to slow. ? Would be interested to test it out on the Supra. I think I've...
I've been doing this a long time, and maybe I just don't run in the right circles, but I've never heard of a product like this before. My initial thought is that any gains from this would be offset by having to run the AC, which is going to take power off the top due to the motor having to run...
You know, your car being lowered is probably what's largely throwing me off. Glad you're not having any issues with clearance. Looking forward to hearing this setup in person! Thanks for the write-up!
