There seem to be test cars like the one above and test cars that have the pops and bangs. Watch the Redline Review of the 2021 and he actually says the 2021 is louder and you can hear it cracking and popping. Car and Driver’s written review says the pops and cracks are gone. Definitely odd.

Never bothered me. One day I was driving away from a stoplight on a four lane divided highway, and someone all the way across the divide (quite far) bellowed -BMW!!!- as we got moving in opposite directions. I actually chuckled.
