I had a CE…hated the fact that rotors were so expensive. Not that you need replace two piece rotors that often but that ot was absurdly priced AND you can’t just replace the rotor surface, tou have to replace the whole thing if its OEM which defeats some of the purpose of the 2 piece wheel design.
I did 13CW a whole bunch, super technical and you can lose a lot of time due to bad line selection through cotton corners and not hopping over the apex at truck stop in to riverside…or early apexing in to turn 1. Its actually a nightmare to run perfectly. I’ll be there on the 22nd with a group...
A friend of mine had KW cancellers and they did not work, so he said that he had someone remote code it for him using a computer and he does not have error codes....well he has a CEL for catless DP and maybe the EDC is included in that cell as well...at least his car does not send warning...
This confirms what I am feeling as well. Car in stock form has a lot more grip than the seats can handle. I did not feel the need to get bucket seat and harness on my GR 86 until I was sufficiently fast with it and moved to 200TW tires. Supra in stock form at the track....bucket seat+harness is...
I was there on Friday for Open test, same 25 CCW configuration...which is a dumb configuration to be honest....it feels like NASCAR and does not have soul of 13CW. Also entry to star mazda turn in reverse is uber tricky. Anyways yes back straight is 130mph and there is dip right at the braking...
This does not work in real life as the worn rotor creates a lip and is thinner in the center than it is at the edge. Those calipers never managed to accurately measure rotor thickness for me as they are pretty much stuck at measuring the edge and not touching the center.
I mean, I already sold these to my self thinking about them last night, with this post it is pretty much a done deal.
As far as upgrading, you mean 1wayNR to 2wayRemote is easier than 2NR to 2Remote? Is it that the upgrade cost is the same but you paid less upfront for the 1NR or on top of 1NR...
For track use with a stock engine 275/18 200TW tires on Willow springs, Chuckwalla and BW, running between second to fastest or fastest group.
1 way gives you rebound dampening adjustment, 2 way gives you rebound and compression. I never had adjustable suspension on a car I took to track so I...
Cost, color, availability aside
for track day usage
in the sizes 18/10.7 and 18/11
to run a 275 200TW tire
Why would one pick one vs the other? I guess the .3 inch difference might make Apex be able to run a one size wider tire than Titan7?
Thanks man, this was mostly informational for me anyways as I have never done a power mod (except like intake) on any of my track cars in the past.
I’ll check out what you guys got there on the site.
So uhhh thanks for that Jessie. This pretty much kills the JB4 discussion for me as I don't have access to 93 regularly for street driving. I can get it at the track but I'd have to arrive with an empty tank and this will go through 2 tanks of gas especially with more boost @$10 a gallon that's...
The purpose of the water wetter is to prevent corrosion, or I'd do straight distilled water. If I must leave coolant in there anyways, I would not bother with a 1 hour drain + 4 flush cycles min @11minutes each for 2 systems and 1 hour button up.
So when MCS is sold the first option for 1 way...
What size are your wheels? I don't think I can fit 10.5+ 18 inch rims without coilovers. If they did I would probably skip them for the time being.
I feel like my only option of tracking with stock suspension + camber is keeping the stock 19 inch stagered setup.....or waste money on 18/9.5-10...
What do you think about flushing both systems with distilled water and water wetter? Would getting the antifreeze out help in this car? It did on my GR86 and GRC, dropping temps by 15F or so on 90F ambient.
Looking to find a an independent shop/mechanic that can install/adjust various parts, mostly towards a track setup. Not interested in the speedstars, tokyotoguefanboys type speciality shops where they recommend for you to put every known SPL part on your car and charge $1000 to install...
