Two different people close to the project told me that the engine used for this run is the new iron block I6, so from that I'd say this statement is incorrect (at least in part).
The motor very may well end up with a B58 designation in order to keep things secret, but it will end in some other...
it's not functional, nor are the ones on the front bumper afaik.
not sure about the ones on the clamshell, but I assume they're all the same. for folks asking why? because of Calty, the FT-1, and everyone saying how much they loved that design lol.
unfortunately, you'd be surprised...
if it happens, it would be the top spec that comes with it, but as it has never been seen in testing and considering the decklid design in general, I'd say it's as unlikely as it has always been.
ideally it would come with more power if it weighs more, but we're still getting 1400kg figures from internal sources and external sources close to the chief engineer.
3070lbs with 340hp is honestly pretty decent, at least as far as i'm concerned.
The interior is fully covered with felt tarps as per the norm thus far, aside from the HUD.
also fyi, Moto more or less confirmed no active wing and 1400kg.
motor and tuning aside, you're also talking interior and mechanical components (suspension/diff) that are of a higher level than a 370z by quite a bit.
that said, the 50-55k mark is still right where it *should* be IMO.
it was the new motor, but unfortunately you can hardly hear it...
that said, I'm not sure what folks were expecting. there will be a point where things are revealed and you can see more of the car, but that will occur later on; it's still too far away from launch.
try to relax a bit and...
Yeah, I look forward to seeing the details in the AM.
EDIT:
Lol, one of the other engineers and a PR person want me to stay up with them and watch. Shame I'm pushing 31 and nothing matters more than sleep these days.
Enjoy!
Yeah, accounting is a huge deal, but at the component level exceptions are everywhere.
It's hard to generalize because it's fairly illogical at times, and yet other times it does hold true.
Basically, no universal truth.
I don't think they care, otherwise they would have posted ages ago about the composites and a ton of other stuff I've given away over time.
granted this one has a bit more confirmation, but they dont seem to care much about confirming facts as seen time and again haha.
they were on the fence last I checked, but it seemed like they were leaning more towards the traditional aluminum B58. IMO, it also makes far more sense for them based on their market etc.
