I second this. Do it in VERY SMALL AMOUNTS. I am still adjusting mine to not be too tight. You will 100% know if it's too tight as the "self-centering" that happens when you turn and start to unwind the wheel and go straight no longer happens. Makes the far feel "sticky".
Also for people...
Yes 18x11 +40 works without spacers with coilovers. I would suggest a 35 in a 295. 40 gets a little tall. You can run 30 too, I just found to have less forward accel traction and the gearing gets a little weird depending on the track.
Sway bars are going to be setup and personal preference. If...
My opinions but also some learned things from tracking my Supra the last three seasons.
Get 18x11 square. This will allow you to run 275 tires as well as 295 tires and for them to have proper support from a proper width wheel. Square will allow you to rotate the tires so tires will last longer...
If anyone with a MT has a femto'd ecu, on bootmod3, I would be happy to take a look at the ROM if it helps the community. Talking about the OEM ROM, not the tuned one, so no worries about me seeing any tuners work. DM me if interested.
I agree, I just think they are way over hyped. When people constantly state "The answer is always Miata" I have to eye roll, it is def not always the answer.
Currently I would buy a twin over a miata any day of the week.
Having been alive for and a license holder for all generations when released, I do not misunderstand why people seem to elevate them so much. I’m not even talking about power when I say they are over hyped turds.
The S2K is the same formula and not an over hyped turd.
So much this. Everyone thinks the mk4 comes with 900 hp stock. The engineering in the car was good and ahead of its time for sure but that doesn’t mean that made it a legend, just look at the Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4, wayyyyy ahead of its time engineering wise and most people could care less about...
You really need to calculate MPG over a whole tank of gas. Short trips or even a couple hour trips are really only going to show a very small percentage.
Miles Ă· gallons of gas = MPG
A quart every 1000 miles is not normal in any modern car. Period. You would drive from NY to CA and half your oil would be gone. Nope. I’ve owned probably twenty cars and none of them consumed oil like that in normal healthy operation.
I drove my VW from CA to NJ and it didn’t consume any oil.
