It taps into CAN but the PID list is very short and it doesn’t show/log bmw enhanced items. Quality is pretty crap too

That only shows generic obd2 data that any obd2 adapter and your phone could show. OP is creating something that will show BMW specific data like what ecutek and bm3 can show/log The CAN-CHECK product can do this as well but quality is a bit crap and support is bad.

No, I was going to suggest to put UV dye in the oil. However, I 100% understand the car is new with less than 1,000 miles and you want Toyota to deal with anything like this. I respect this even if it might have sounded otherwise before.

I mean you can clearly see it's an open diff in the photo. I believe the Euro 2.0L's have a "sport package" that could add the lsd. Just looked at the German site... Apparently you can get a 2.0L with the 3.0L active rear diff, active suspension and brembo brakes. Learn something new every day!
