  1. Cheap Track Tires

What kind of tires are you looking at? These are all available in 275/35/19: - Nankang CRS - Nankang AR1 - Yokohama A052 - Falken RT660 - Bridgestone RE71RS - Kumho V730 - BFG Rival S - Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2

Last track day of the year for me today. Cold at 42-45* but it was good for power. Was hitting 144mph in the front straight which is cooking at Lime Rock. I still absolutely hate these CSG pads. Never again. Light switch for modulation and for some reason I can fade these when I never faded my...

More negative camber will help, but a lot of that is probably from those Federal Tires. I can't remember the last time I saw any federal tire at a track day. They were a one hit wonder like 10 years ago for sure. The drift bois seem to still like them though.
  4. Cooling Temps

How do you use your Supra? Mainly street use or track or a little of both?
  5. Cooling Temps

Won't do anything meaningful until you upgrade the intake manifold.
  6. Teach me race seats

Depends on how close they are. Some people put roll bar high density padding on things that might be a possibility. Also, you cannot get a roll bar in a Porsche in the USA. You have to purchase it aftermarket. In Europe you can. Different laws.

Roll cage and roll bar are very different things. A proper street roll bar which is the back half of the car would be far enough away from the driver/passenger to never come in contact, yet still work in a rollover. A roll cage on the street that comes into the front of the cabin is a death...
  8. Teach me race seats

WRC-R has much higher lower side bolsters and a bit more upper shoulder support. I've gotten to the point with aero and lateral grip that my back gets very sore after track days as I find myself tensing my back up to keep me upright. That said, I am super out of shape and have like zero core...
  9. About to go Bald

I take offense to this. All joking aside, I totally agree. I'm almost fifty, have been track driving for over twenty years, all manuals and I would still buy the Supra with the auto if I did it all over again. I also dismissed the MK5 Supra at first because it only came in auto at the time. Then...
  10. Teach me race seats

It quickly becomes second nature how to get in/out of the car with the seat. Even guys with higher lower side bolsters like the OMP WRC-R (which, btw I am probably upgrading to this winter) don't need a removable wheel. When you go to a halo seat is when you *should* have a removable wheel so...
  11. Teach me race seats

Yes, easily. I don't even need to move the wheel up.
  12. Teach me race seats

LOL. Not by themselves but I did weigh the seat + 6pt harness + side mounts + 6pt bar + Oem seat belt buckle. Sparco Evo QRT is advertised at 15.5lbs itself

His toe is in spec. I actually run around the same amount of toe-in in the rear as he does. (2mm each side) Positive toe is toe-in. Negative is toe-out. The question still stands around if the alignment guy made sure the suspension was settled when doing the alignment.
  14. About to go Bald

Both the AT and MT take oil to run properly so we should start talking about oil. We should probably also bring the Nissan Z into this discussion. Perhaps also talk about Mustangs, the M2, something about a Z4 maybe. While we are at it, let’s ask some tire size questions and then also ask...

I bought these for fun lapping and not worrying about PB's. Ironically I used them yesterday at Palmer and I did a PB. That said, I will never buy these again. They are SOOOOOO loud on the street. They low level vibrate the whole car and the hum is so loud I can barely hear the car downshift...
  17. Drove an R34 GTR in Japan today

What the F is this. Kill it with fire!
  18. Razorlab - 2020 LE build thread

We had a weird jump in temp for four days this week so I quickly looked for a track event to go to. Found one at Palmer, put on by Palmer on Friday and jumped on it. Was 78*F in the afternoon. I didn't do too many Palmer clockwise events this year so I don't know it as well as the standard...

I've had this exact same issue and it was when I first started doing my own alignments at home and I really sucked at first. Just on the street as soon as I braked the car would want to swap ends. What are your current alignment settings? Are you making sure your alignment guy is making sure...
