With stock rotors and yes, you need to properly bed them in, like any pad. No need to resurface, just properly bed them in.

I’ve used both and the AS4’s feel much “sportier” than the DWS because of the stiffer sidewalls. I previously have used every generation of the DWS over the last 20 years, but now much prefer the AS4’s.

If you want one that can expand to connect via CAN into your ECU at some point, I recommend the PRT kit. It's basically a zeitronix setup with some fittings that make for an easy install. Just need a display if not using the ECU integration yet. Zeitronix sells a display for $140.
