Feb 25, I believe it is. I will be skipping Chuckwalla as I can't make that trip, but hoping to do the following round at Las Vegas motor speedway. If I work it right, I should only end up missing three of their events.
I can't wait to get out to Buttonwillow so I can do an apples to oranges...
Finally track prepping. Wheels, tires, brake pads and fluid. Getting ready for Bimmer Challenge.
Found another advantage to the base model: no paint on the calipers to worry about. ?
Ah. I was gonna ask if the socket were thin walled. I have to use 1/2" drive socket on the end of an impact gun or the breaker/jack handle. I have a ton of tools that are only good for one thing... but man.. they are so necessary LOL
I'll be dealing with this over the weekend. Luckily I'll have my impact so can hold the socket on place.
So the OEM bolts have shallow heads, like a flywheel bolt?
I'm old so no longer do stuff that will give me grief with PD and, most often: CHP. A few extra HP just isn't worth it for me. I bought this car because it's fast enough off the showroom floor. I've tried a JB4. It didn't make enough of a difference.. the aftermarket DP wasn't worth it, either...
They are a GREAT pad. I wasn't aware they could make stuff for us, though. I'll shoot them an email. Since I have to burn through these current pads first, that gives them plenty of time to figure out something for me.
Interesting...
My car was cruising at 108°C tonight. My last car did the same with coolant. It's average operating temp was a little bit high but it pretty much never budged.
I'm finding scattered info in various threads. In my previous turbo cars, I was okay with oil temp hanging out around 275-280*F or so. What temp, exactly, should we be comfortable with having and at what point should we be looking to upgrade coolers?
Thanks in advance.
When I hear "stage" and "protune", it's safe to assume they are from the Subaru world LOL. Stages mean shit because everyone builds their cars in different ways.
The only other place I've seen "stage" is for those generic chip "tunes" you see advertised in magazines.
Like someone mentioned...
Yes, I will be running the premium rears. I used DTC60s on my Evo. They worked great. Not my favorite, but that could be a preference thing. I'm waiting for Raybestos to make pads for our cars. I'll then be sticking with those.
Other than that, I really like Carbotech, just not the price. If...
Update: I was able to score a set of rear Premium calipers from a member here and a set of OEM rear Premium rotors from a wrecking yard for $150.
Premium brakes to be installed as soon as my new rear pads wear down. The rear brakes were the only concern I had about buying a base model.... not...
