I've been searching this damned site all day. Does anyone remember the name of the thread that lists all the ECUs we can use? Turns out a friend of mine deals in BMW parts and can find one, I just need a list of viable cars, please.
Those of us who don't want eleventy billion horsepower but, rather, a nicely-driving, responsive car with better power than stock.
IF the parts were reasonably expensive - not this.
$3500 is fine for the guys that are into, say, drag racing where more power = faster and they're gonna spend tens...
FWIW a lot of us have been tracking on spacers/extended studs with decently- powered cars because they are safe.
Also, Google something along the lines of "wheel spacers on race cars" and you will see a ton of race/drift/really/etc cars that use them. You're car doesn't know the difference...
*Vendor doesn't post "results"
*Internet: "why don't you post results bro?"
*Vendor posts results
*Internet: "never trust results of a product posted by the person that makes it".
Basically, you can't win. If previous and current customers are saying they are happy with the service, that...
Noob question, but: If I send both ECUs, I get the OEM ECU back untouched? I ask because I live in California and would need to smog or sell the car, eventually.
Does anyone happen to know why these cars are torque limited? Is it to save engines or transmissions? Is it too further dummy proof the car? Does anyone really know?
When going to an 18-in wheel, you have selection from a plethora of tire choices. Also, another benefit, is that you get enough sidewall to help with lateral grip.
Saving quite a bit of weight is a legitimate benefit.
18 in seems to be the sweet spot for most tire diameters around 25 to 26 in.
I think it's cute that here we are, three years later, and people still say, "Nice BMW!".
I lol the first couple of years. But now it just shows the lack of creativity
.... So then this thread is expected to be accepted in about ten years from now. We just have to manage until then. ??
I have to admit I've never seen a thread posted a decade before it's meant to be started.
