Realistically, even a simple tune will add stress to the drivetrain. Especially on a turbo car. I learned that the hard way with my Audi when the clutch coudn't really reliably handle the extra power from just a tune alone.

You can do it yourself and still have service records. Just document the oil change (with date and odometer reading) and make a photocopy of the receipts for the oil and the oil filter. Then you'll have a solid record of not only when the oil change was done, but the oil and filter used as well...
