Basically anything getting shipped to the west coast is gonna get held up in Long Beach for a while. They can't handle capacity at the port. The car and a bunch of parts were caught up there at varying points between end of 2020 and earlier this year.
Watched a FB thread about some dude who wanted to sell his Supra for $135k (to be fair, he put a lot of money into parts and labor, but amount spent != amount added to value of car).
Also just crossed 16k miles on my Supra today, so gave it a few revs to celebrate.
This is true. A lot of videos about this was made for the '20s which didn't have the threaded hole or the bolts, so it was nice to know that the '21s could just use stock bolts. Saved a lot of work.
There's a lot of ignorance around the economics behind car development. BMW's partnership kept costs down and kept the car affordable to the target demographic. Otherwise the Supra would've been a 6 figure sales disaster like the NSX or newer GTRs, or let's not forget the LFA (from a sales...
Some of the more level-headed folks are starting to reconsider, but there's plenty of people there with their heads in the sand about the Camissa review like it doesn't matter (it does) or banging the same old drum of "not a real Supra/it's a BMW" or "it's not reliable".
A wheel and a screen doesn't transmit the same amount of feedback a car does. You can't feel the grip you have on the road, imperfections like potholes, the camber of the corner, or the weight transfer of the car. Not unless you spend several thousand on a professional grade simulator.
Also...
This isn't really an effective way tbh. Racing sim setups are somewhat pricey and you don't get any haptic feedback that's involved with drifting unless you have a $20k+ professional setup.
I'd rather recommend checking the event schedules at a local autoX or race track; some will have skid...
VSC only on the track because TC cuts in and kills power too much for good lap times + I need more seat time before I go full off.
I leave it on when on the streets. Not worth endangering myself, others, or my car, and its possible to have fun even with TC on when on public roads.
Gonna answer stuff that didn't seem covered:
1.2: whats JB4 and what does it do and why isnt it being used by everyone
Because it's limited in the readings it can modify (namely boost pressure). This limits the upper bounds of power you can achieve. To go above and beyond, you'll need a full...
Hit the Ridge today to get a feel for the car after all the track prep. It's hard to break old habits of where the edge of grip is; the new threshold is much higher.
After much experimenting, got down to a 2:01 on greasy PS4Ses during my last session of the day. I know for sure I can get into...
Finally starting to learn the new limits of the car after the brake fluid, pads, sway bars, and new suspension setup during a track day at the Ridge. It's hard to break old habits because the car grips so much better now.
I'm waiting for the dual, I much prefer the look of duals to single exits, and all the other valved titanium dual options have some drawback or another.
