Yes and yes so far. Near stock smoothness, much better than JB+. Definitely more power. TC is kicking in much more. I'll give some more feedback after a couple weeks of driving, and will share a solid OTS Map6 for MT cars after I do some more datalogging.
Update: unfortunately, I experience the...
Happy to say the JB4 does not have this issue. (then again, neither did the JB+ to start). I wonder if its an MT-only problem.
Will report back after more driving, but I gotta say after seeing how easy the JB4 install was, you may just want to consider going that route instead.
I suspect the...
Finally installed the JB4 tonight. Less than an hour install, taking my time, plenty of zipties.
What I didn't realize... is that the app pairs a JB4 unit to only one app user at a time. If you buy a pre-owned JB4, and they haven't unlinked the app, you can't actually connect to your own JB4...
Reading through Burger's info on the B58 JB4, and saw this interesting bit to share:
Boost targets drop as you approach the fuel limit. For us who tried E30+, there must be a level where you start to lose power.
I'm assuming our cars being the high performance O1 engine variant (factory PPK...
Genuinely not trying to be a jerk about it. I haven't pushed my car to the limits on the street either since I haven't had it on the track. I'm not sure what you expect throttling into a corner in a powerful short-wheelbase RWD car.
As others have said, it's possible that your alignment is out too.
No one can seriously prefer the looks of the M2 right??? That's a boat... and I LOVED the previous M2C.
Nothing makes a Supra look better than putting it next to a modern BMW that costs 15k more. ?
My JB4 is going on this afternoon. So you're telling me I can do the fuse-pull mod, run valve open all the time, and just disable burbles even in sport mode? Would I retain the same sport-mode engine response?
This is my ideal - I want my valve always open with touchy throttle response but...
I am actually surprised theres a noticeable difference. Never driven another Supra besides my 23 - was always confused with people reviewing prior years as "unstable" and "twitchy". The 23 is definitely playful but planted (until you want it to slide).
JB4 is still going to be less for now, but if you buy a JB4 second-hand at their going rate on this forum ($400-450 w/bluetooth) - its still the best performance value.
I paid $425 for my JB4, custom tuning it myself for free, and put a $400 downpipe in it. I should be pushing ~450whp with...
I've never used it, but it looks like the JB4 app allows you to save and load multiple map 6 configs. It wouldn't take a minute to switch between. You're not actually storing multiple Map 6s on the JB4 though.
I swap between 93 and E maps all the time on my GTI, but that's because the OTS maps...
The app is fine, yeah a little overpriced and buggy. If you plan on doing logging and switching maps based on fuel, you'll definitely want BT and the app.
If you're gonna throw it on Map1/2 to set and forget, BT not needed.
If you are going Map 6, you're gonna want the BT.
