Ha! I feel the same way about the MK8 Golf R. Have had my GTI since 2015 and always wanted to upgrade to a new Golf R since I love the platform. As soon as I could afford them, the price ballooned to 50k+, they got stupid capacitive touch and got uglier.
Blessing in disguise, wouldn't have...
Well, lighter while warm and thicker cold. I'm sure there are different aspects/additives in the Liquimoly that help too.
I'm no oil expert, but objectively the car went from 1 qt needed per 4k miles to almost none. That's enough for me to endorse the brand.
This is from Burger's website on a Gen 1 B58:
Expect 35 whp over stock when running the JB at ~4.0 psi. I'm assuming BMS wouldn't max the JB+ out on 91 oct.
I personally found the JB+ to be much smoother and nearly as fast when the dial is set to 80% ish.
Stock 2023s dyno around 380-390whp so...
Agreed. It's definitely an end of an era. Auto is a great unit, but lets be honest with ourselves...
The resale value difference between equivalent AT and MT will be significant in 10 years. Demand for MT will only go up. See MT Porsches (981s, 997s) for example. BMW also says the current M2 is...
Supra was not intended to be the daily, though I do drive it about 60% of the time now. I just can't help taking those keys omw to work.
My actual daily/wet weather car is a 2015 GTI, unfortunately also a 2 door. Don't drive it as much as I'd like to but the storage space comes in handy on...
S58 Supra is not going to happen. Just a fun little clickbait that comes around on occasion.
BMW is not stupid enough to let Toyota make a better M-car than anything they sell.
400+ miles on my Function Werk (Kenji Garage) catless and no CEL. Previous owner had it on several thousand miles no CEL.
Any catless with a built in secondary O2 defouler should generally not throw a CEL.
+1 on this. If I start the car in sport mode, I want the valves open. Cold start or not. I don't want to unplug the fuse since I like the valve closed on longer trips.
Hard to tell what his pace in the AT will be, but experience is worth a lot in the sport. They need an experienced driver to help develop the car. If a driver is too much of a rookie to provide feedback on the car, there's no progress.
I suspect Redbull is getting Danny warmed up for Checo's...
ZF8 is so sweet! Drove a new M240, M3, M5, X3 M on the track and I've gotten some experience with it. I tracked those back to back with an M2 Comp DCT, which was crisper but not necessarily faster.
The MT was just a simple choice since they'll be dead by next decade. Probably the last new car...
I don't go full TC/ESC off on the road, but Traction mode allows for some relatively tame slides at empty intersections (in Mexico of course). Fun, but I try not to make a habit of it.
The car's balance is excellent - correcting the slide is not difficult at all.
Probably will try the rainy...
Interestingly, I almost pulled the trigger on a Z4 M just before the manual Supra was announced.
M3 engine + 6MT in a proper roadster? Seemed like an awesome package. (and cheaper than equivalent 981s)
Still glad I went Supra since the B58 is a far better engine, but definitely wish there was...
Wasn't the whole slipping issue just a master cylinder/delay valve thing? I'm pretty certain my MT is pushing over 450 wtq (catless/JB+/E30) and I have no slip at all at 2k miles.
