You're on the loud pedal more, lol. Catless should improve MPG. I just went catless this week so I'll report back my findings later. My GTI's MPG improved a couple when I went catted DP.
I think that every time I see one. Took my daily for a little road trip this last weekend and saw 3 of them - still breaks my neck. "Does mine look that good??? damn!"
Fair point. I earlier stated I use ethanol for "safety" and maybe I should clarify. Never is the engine at risk of blowing running JB+ at ANY SETTING on ANY FUEL. DME will simply pull timing/boost - sapping power and ruining drivability. If your octane is really shit (< 91), potentially the car...
Thank you! That's a great idea too. The Stratasys printer I have at work uses pretty thick layers - would have required plenty of sanding and paint. Was lazy and got AMS deflectors on mine ?
Genuinely have never seen someone so passionately against something they've never tried. They'll look awfully silly when someone posts measurable gains. I, for one, don't feel like I need to prove anything by spending 200 bucks on a dragy or dyno run..
For reference- I run JB4 with BT and data...
My strut brace creaked and annoyed the hell out of me for the first couple months of driving the car. It seems to have settled in and quieted down after 1500 miles. I only hear the creaks when the chassis is being flexed considerably.
Funny post lol. I was worried I broke something the first week with the car after I set the hood down gently and tried to press each latch in. Had the same crooked look.
Ended up dropping it down from 5-6 inches to get it to close evenly. Later learned in the manual that it is intended to be...
Ethanol doesn't burn at 14.7:1 ratio like gasoline. It's much richer, so there's just more fuel being combusted - especially when the car overruns the fuel to make pops. Your car may also be marginally louder. If that's not the reason, anyone feel free to correct me.
This is a pic off of the JB+ install guide that I've drawn on. Pull the #1 tab out. Squeeze #1 down and pull the connector off gently while lightly sticking the pick tool in between the male and female connectors at #2. It came off VERY easily. Don't try to force anything.
Not really willing to continue discussion if you aren't being constructive. If you try the JB+ with and without E and still hold the same opinion, leave that feedback here.
Suit yourself. Taking 3 extra minutes to fill a couple gallons of E at the pump is neither an inconvenience or extra cost for me to do. FYI - Owners manual says E25 is perfectly OK (page 326). Perhaps give it a try before discrediting the 4 of us (And BMS) who have tried it. No one ever said it...
The reasoning is simple. JB+ is adding nearly 5 psi of boost and has no logging capability. If the engine is making timing corrections (ie pre-detonation), I would have no way of knowing. I am taking the precaution and using E to raise my octane to ensure engine safety and improve performance...
Understandable but BMS told me that 2-3 gallons of E is fine to use with the JB+. The HPFP and injectors on the b58 gen2 is actually capable of up to e50, but since JB+ is just a piggyback, stock tune fuel trim map can't compensate past e30ish.
