  1. solutions for oil temp on track

Has anyone ever tried to add an additional water type oil cooler to the loop? Sometimes they can be compact. Coolant temps seem stable around 230/245. As for synthetic oil, most of the saftey data sheets show the flash points and shear point numbers. As long as you don't hit 330°F you should be...
  2. Do I really need an air filter?

This might be ok temporarily but I'd recommend finding a way to pipe in an intake filter. Even if its a reducer or a 90 down or up to some other part of the car. Yes you'll lose some power but there are ways to gain that back. Dust and dirt really do damage to an engine over time...Your oil...
  3. Young Driver Insurance Cost, Crazy Rates.

Unfortunately it is normal. Best advice I have for you is to be a co signer if you can as long as it doesn't ruin another driver's rates. And get multi discounts. Once I added vehicles and other dumb stuff to my policy my rates went down. I pay mine in full instead of monthly that saves like 50...
  4. Radar detectors ?

Does that mount obscure your vision a lot? Or does it depend on seat position
  5. Blown Stock Turbo? Ways to go?

Stock turbo seal rebuild isn't the worst. Just make sure when driving hard that your oil is good and up to temp. Charge piping will likely need to be cleaned of oil residue since it blew some under boost.
  6. Blown Stock Turbo? Ways to go?

I thought of this too. Bogging right off idle is usually an airflow/vacuum problem. Seeing white smoke is worrisome but a hose could've popped off somewhere. Also could be the turbo failing slowly, going into boost a few more times might make it completely dead and cause total shaft failure :(
  7. Donut - We Drove EVERY Supra

I still have an old stock automatic from the 90's. While it's nice to drive it's quite far behind the MKV in performance. It's nice to cruise in because of the 3 gears +od are so long. It doesn't compare to the V160 though with the fun factor, not even close.... They should've compared like for...
  8. Oil getting hot quickly

I'd recommend using what's good for your engine based on climate. As long as it matches your driving style and intended use of course 😉 0 and 5W 40 are pretty good at sub freezing temps...
  9. Whose kid is this? Florida deputy clocking teen driving 132 mph in his daddy's 2.0

Very true. I feel it's mostly about knowing your kids. And don't HELP them cause trouble lol
  10. Whose kid is this? Florida deputy clocking teen driving 132 mph in his daddy's 2.0

That would be cruel but wow lol. I'm the video the cop did reference what happened to a kid in a mustang that he stopped. Kinda sad when a parent doesn't take notice of their kids behavior/limits
  11. 1214 WHP GEN2 B58 by bootmod3

Doesn't seem horrible honestly. 650 tq at 4500 RPM's is solid for traction. Bringing on power too fast can kill motors especially when running over 40 psi boost. And up top, I'm sure the kelford cams when tuned can fix the rest.
  12. GMS Top turbo mount

Yeah definitely. The mid range power is likely where you will see the difference. From 5000 rpm and up I'd expect the precision turbo to be better since the turbine is about 10mm bigger for the inducer and exducer. In PTE terms the Garret would be a 6862
  13. FS: Work Emotion CR 3P **$3500**

Love the wheels. Is there a way to get these center caps by themselves? My old Emotion Kai's are pretty beat up:/
  14. GMS Top turbo mount

Not sure what boost level is being run but these Garrets choke at around 800bhp unless you're running a high pressure ratio. I think I've seen a GR Yaris or Corolla hit 800+whp but at much higher boost than a B58 normally runs. The precision is much better if you're shooting for 900 to 1000 hp.
  15. Radar detectors ?

I agree. For the East Coast I found the R8 to be the best and the Valentine 1G2 to be the quietest (minimal false alarms). The V1G2 can be better once updated and connected to a network but I don't always turn that on when I get in a car. And usually when I'm driving I have waze on in the...
  16. Anticipated announcement & changes/updates for next 2024 model year Supra

I believe the 90's Euro spec supras had adjustable front wings. If they could do it then they can definitely do it now. Idk who finalizes these yearly model updates but some are simply head shakers. Like where is their feedback coming from...😒
  17. Track Supra from Germany!

To race at SPA and Zandvoort is a dream.. Well done man, keep the updates coming!!
  18. Supra Nurburgring Time?

  19. A bit disappointed in Toyota

The triple exhaust does look kinda silly but it is functional. If I recall correctly the center exhaust is valve controlled and only opens above a certain RPM. The rear diffuser upgrades will have a good market, same for twin exhausts too. I'll attach the picture from SEMA. And a TOM'S style...
