Right, the Supra is on the SM-10s but I think the white M4 in the side by side shot is on our FL-5s. It's hard to tell from the angle though. Thanks for sharing!

Has anyone had any issues with Michelin PS4S tires not wanting to seal properly at the bead on the Apex SM-10s? My local performance shop got my Nitto 555R2s seated perfectly fine but the PS4S's had a very slow leak from the bead. They ended up having to use Bead Sealer. Does this sound right at all?? I should note this was on the backside of the wheel/tire, not the front side. I'm kind of worried to drive the car like this.

The wheels are the Apex 19x9.5 and 19x11 setup and the tires are PS4S 265/35/19 for the front and Nitto 555R2s in 285/35/19 for the rear.

Both the inner and outer portions of our SM-10 wheels have knurling along the bead seats. These are small machined cuts that run along the surface of the seat:

30152647828_56f5a338ed_k.jpg

This knurling helps keep your wheels and tires balanced on track or in situations where you are braking heavily or accelerating rapidly. On a standard smooth bead, the tire can slide along the surface over time which gradually unbalances the wheel and tire. The knurling helps reduce this slippage ensuring your drive home from the track is smooth.

These small cuts can make getting a seal at the bead when initially mounting the tires more difficult. We generally recommend airing up the tire that is leaking to the maximum pressure specified on the sidewall for a few minutes to help seat the bead. You can drive slowly around the block if needed at the higher pressure to help them seat as well. After a few minutes, deflate the tire to the recommended PSI for your car. This fixes the leaking beads without the need for any bead sealer in the cases we've seen so far. Your car should be safe to drive and you can monitor the tire pressures as needed for the first week or so just to be sure.

Let us know if you have any other questions!

Thank you for this information. I recognized the knurled section on the front section of the wheel but didn't notice the knurled section on the back section of the wheel. I informed the shop of the front knurled edge but didn't tell them it was like that on the back side. I'm hoping this was the issue. The shop did end up putting 40lbs of air in the tires when they mounted them the second time, as well as the bead sealer, and so far the wheels have been sitting in my garage and haven't leaked any air.

I just wonder why the Nittos went on so effortlessly with no bead issue and the PS4S had the issue. Ohh well, like I said, thanks for reaching out and I will make sure to update once the wheels have been installed on thr car and its been driven some.

So update to my last post. Wheels and tires are on the car and so far the PS4S's are holding air just fine at 42 PSI, no leaks so far and I went for a 15 minute drive. Car looks amazing with these SM-10's. I will be getting better pics in the day light later on.

Correct, no issues with that setup from what we've seen. The 19" front SM-10s were designed to be run as a staggered fitment only which gives you much more room around the front suspension. This setup should work well for you.

-Tom
Looks like 275/30x19 are on backorder but 265/35x19 are readily available. No issues running 265/35x19 in fronts and 305/30x19 in rears correct?

That is correct. It should be a bolt on fitment for you! Here are some photos to give you an idea of that it looks like:

Front: 19x9.5 ET25
Rear: 19x11 ET40

Tires: Michelin PS4S
Front: 265/35-19
Rear: 305/30-19
