Yes they are. It basically goes into limp mode when it sees the boost after 4k rpm and we only have it at 14psi right now and just trying to get a clean pull.Looking forward on this progress.
Looks like a lot of tuning companies are hitting these torque limiters
Thanks brother. Yes it's been a journey for sure. I hope they make good progress today on the dyno so I can share the results!Ryan,
Love your mods. I hope they figure out the problems and make good progress soon. Wishing you the best outcome. Thanks for sharing and the continuous updates.
We got it! Finally they were able to break through the issues with closures and limp mode. We got a full clean pull at 14psi and at 20psi. These are just baseline runs and we still have more psi and more timing to go for numbers. I can tell you it's making 550 tq before 4krpm which means this setup is going to be perfect. The twinscroll EFR comes on way sooner than everyone expected and I'm very happy with the result so far. Part of this is because of the 4" downpipe, external gate manifold design, and properly sized a/r housing.
Stay tuned today for power runs and to find out where the stock fuel system can go just on 100 octane. No meth, no nitrous.
Sound up and enjoy!
Haha. Me too brother. I'm just waiting to see the final non-meth graph and then I'll post it up. They look pretty awesome so far though. At 3500 rpm it's already more than 400ft-lbs and it comes in hard 500+ around 3600-3700 which is impressive. My tuner is just being conservative on adding in boost and timing to find out where the fueling will become an issue.Awaiting those graphs
Nice power gains already indeed. Glad to hear that your heat exchanger works well.Haha. Me too brother. I'm just waiting to see the final non-meth graph and then I'll post it up. Still have more boost to go and more timing but right now its already doing 530whp without meth. I'm pretty happy with the results so far. The new heat exchanger is really helping the IAT's stay down.
I do have a Snow Performance Stage 3 meth kit coming tomorrow but I wanted to have a non-meth aggressive tune just in case.
Here's the part # FHP30-A901Can you kindly share the part number for the Fluidyne upgraded heat exchanger ?
What modifications were needed to make it fit ?
Ryan,Here's the part # FHP30-A901
This was designed as a direct bolt-in part.
So the radiator and heat exchanger are both held in just like an E46 in how two plastic shells hold the coolers and it sits in a rubber mount. Any upgraded heat exchanger will require the three tabs on the front of the plastic shells that held the transmission cooler to be trimmed for the added thickness. Really not a huge deal and it still fits in just like OEM. The upgraded heat exchanger just comes with new mounts for the OEM trans cooler on the new heat exchanger.
what fuel is in the car for those numbers and what kinda dyno? seems low for that turbo.Does anyone know the Non-Meth Non-Nitrous wheel horsepower record?
I'm on the dyno today working on power runs and she just made 540whp and 582tq without meth at 24-25psi with no fueling issues. More updates coming very soon!
