Like some of you here in the forum I am just waiting for official specs from Toyota. 340HP with a curb weight of 3100lbs is not bad because with full bolt ons and a tune you could get close to 400HP. I won't buy one for 60k if that are the official specs. It'll depend on the price for me if it does come with 340HP.

so,

A90:
340HP, 3100 lbs, 255/35/19 F and 275/35/19 R tires

370Z:
332HP, 3,232 lbs, 245/35/19 F and 275/35/19 R tires

If these numbers are right, and the rumored 60k price point is right, we'll have something near identical in spec and absolutely in the same class as a 370Z, for twice the price. ouch.

Maybe they should have shoved the engine in the back and brought back the MR2, because if these numbers are right it definitely doesn't deserve the Supra namesake.
Nissan has the 6speed 370Z at 3,333lbs. Also we been told 350hp by A70 and the people that attended the private unveiling. Not to mention the Z is way down in torque (276). Wouldn't a more fair comparison be the $47k 350hp 370Z Nismo?

it's pretty well known in the nissan scene that the nismo is an abysmal buy. it's virutally all cosmetic, bit of aero, and an exhaust for nearly 20k over base. Still, double the base price of a car in it's competitive class is amazingly bad for a halo car.

End point remains, even if it's 350 @ 3100 lbs, it's an abysmally spec'd competitive car for 60k.

I really want to love this thing, and i've been following it tremendously closely but if those specs are correct this thing is a dud for the racing enthusiast.

370z isnā€™t a turbo! Alu block!
With shiptuning
370z stage 1 +16hp
+15 Nm
370z turbo kit ~10kā‚¬
A90 with turbo iron block
A90 stage 1 +~60hp
+~100Nm
If A90 have 340hp and 500Nm
A90 stage 1 ~400hp and 600Nm

No I agree $60k is high. I still have hope that A70's hunch of $50k will be reality. We're also forgetting that the Supra has almost 100 lb ft torque over the 370Z.

There's a reason why stock MKIVs are hard to find

Yep, sorry the orange strips. I thought the orange was mandatory on North American cars, and Europe and Asia got clear reflectors.
I'm not too sure. I just recall how the oversea Supras had that yellow side marker on the fender.

The R35 GTR has no problems moving along nicely and reliably with an ā€œAlu block!ā€ Iā€™d take my chance with turboā€™ing an NA Nissan motor any day over tuning or overboosting a BMW motor....thatā€™s if itā€™s guaranteed to have a BMW motor since Toyota is so f****n secretive about their beloved A90.

Actual cost of gtr isnā€™t 65kā‚¬ more near 100kā‚¬ If you donā€™t take nismo version...

Yeah like, the Z's all had clear markers all around for the non-North American cars. This included; front turn signals lenses, side markers, and rear taillights.
