My tuner and shop both agreed that the 6466 makes more sense with the mt supras gearing. They felt that the extra lag from a 6870 in the mid range would most likely slow the car down. I originally wanted a 6870 but they talked me out of it
The NG spools really fast for a turbo it's size, and if you build the motor you can extend the rev range to 7700-7800 ish. Everyone I know with a built 6870 mt is really happy with it.

Right, but that rev range is applicable to built motors. I'm not there yet. Not only that but being able to make the torque curve more aggressive on the mid range is where you'll see the most gains

With you on that one. It's a weird trade off since the 6466 spools early enough to create problems for the stock motor in the mid range as well.

The 6466 is definitely punchy in the mid range and I'm sure it's not doing my motor any favors haha. The cars built by Insomnia and I have to trust that he knows his way around this platform but I'm sure I'll swap to a big turbo once I build the motor

also i had no idea that built motor meant you can take it to 700-800RPM higher? forgive my mechnical noob-ness but is that because theyve also changed the displacement or how does that work exactly?

I didn’t realize you can just change the units on previous logs but here it is

also this run has more in it with a better shift bro, your shift penalty is quite big compared to ours, and your absolutely moving 100-160kmh is making up for it though.. 2.06s is insane, mine is 2.32s on my pure 900 right before my shift

Yeah the shifting kills me for sure. I didn’t use nls for this and really try not to bang gears too hard. I really don’t want to hurt the trans or the car will be down for a long time. I also went with a dual mass flywheel which probably hurts a bit too
