I found this post stating we really only need a CCV side catch can. Wanted to post this thread to see other's opinions? My car has a jb+ on it and I do a good amount of autocross and HPDE events in a year. I noticed blow-by oil from the charge pipe (check this post) and wanted to address it. Recommendations on a solution for my use case?

Was thinking of picking up the radium CCV catch can if this is the right way to go.

I have a radium dual catch can for sale in like new condition with some cosmetic scratches from testing fitting. if you're interested and want to go that route, let me know - you're kind of local to me.

What's the install process like for the dual? I saw the instructions online but wondering if anything else needs to be done after physical install? Or just put it on? Is a CEL expected with a catch can?

install process is pretty straight forward. One of the steps involves removing the connectors on your breather hose - I already did this since I had a spare one from a long time ago so you won't have to remove yours from your breather hose.

it's just a bolt on part, nothing else needs to be done after install and no CEL.

The CCV side has a 1 way check valve into the crank case. Some catch cans integrate that check valve into their design and some put a open path into and out of the crank case.

I think sticking with the design of the engine is the way to go with the ccv, which would mean no catch can on that side with the ccv, as it's meant to pull air in from the intake and just do a pcv side catch can.

A reply on this post seems to state the opposite is needed? That's mainly what I'm trying to get clarity on

When I had my catch can set up like that (no check valve) connected to the CCV line I got a shit ton of oil in the catch can. When I put the check valve on, I got no oil in the catch can, when I blocked off the ccv line I got smoke from exhaust.

The ccv into the bottom of the block is a one way check valve IN to the crankcase.

Ah. Now this makes sense. So to confirm, just need the PCV. Correct? And the radium kit is all I would need?

Also will keep you posted on your kit. I have a supra group chat of some NJ owners and asked there and someone offered me the PCV kit before I made this post. I don't mind taking the hose off of you if that makes sense to you. If not, no worries.

Or if you have a part number I might just order the hose too so I can keep the original as a back up for whatever reason.
