Exactly this. The 21 breathes better up topā¦ā¦ā¦.which unless on a track is totally useless. As Digicidal said, after a few seconds of fun Iām stuck usually behind some soccer Mom, traffic, etc. welcome to New England.Whether due to "teething problems" with changes to MY21 or simple luck of the draw on the assembly line... the fact that I've put 20K completely trouble-free miles on my MY20 (and been able to actually drive it for an additional year) means no regrets whatsoever. I'll take that any day over a chance of oil consumption issues and a locked DME.
Most of the differences between the two are only going to be noticed when driven back-to-back or on a track (or at least on completely deserted roads). I can't even open it up to it's full capabilities for more than a few seconds before being stuck behind a soccer mom in a van.
If they'd done a major upgrade in the interior on the other hand (iDrive 7/8, better seats, audio, etc.) then I would have a few regrets I imagine. The aftermarket can easily solve everything else - and even some of those.
