I'm sure one exists, but i can't think of a single reason to ever turn wifi off
Yeah, it didn’t make a difference. I’ll still have to keep uninstalling my phone and hoping she’ll take one of these times. Will try it out of my garage away from the “other” WiFi of my home. Maybe it’s interfering with its own signal ?‍♂

I had some issue present themselves a while back but I figured out it was do to my VPN. My car will not load into CarPlay unless I disable it. Pain in the butt.

New iphone update causes issues with caching i think as a phone reset always works for this. Make sure most of your pages in the phone are closed down. i run a single work phone simultaneously with the personal phone ( used for music) on apple car play....

Forgot to reply back. Once I stopped messing with the damn thing, it’s back to working. It didn’t matter if my VPN is on, WiFi is connected to my house, Bluetooth off or on.

If it happens again and for a while, I’ll go to some off location while running an errand, delete my phone and set it up again. Turn the car off, go do whatever I went there for and come back to the car after she’s been off for a bit. Get in the car, drive and viola! Damn thing works. Coulda been luck but I think that’s what worked for me.

I also think this happens when my wife rarely takes the car instead and it connects to her phone. But I don’t know that for sure either ?. Fcuking electronics man… great when they do work. But what a pain in the ass when they don’t ?

I found a fix where I d/c the phone car play to toyota using the car menu, then re connect.
I think it only happens when my wife has been driving the car (using her phone) and then I go back to mine. I think it might have picked up her phone (from our garage) by default. But honestly, no clue… I haven’t had the issue again since. I did the same thing you said, away from my house (and other devices, wifi, etc.).
